Today, my company had a Halloween party. I was so excited seeing as our company never does anything, so I pulled out all the stops with my costume. I was the only one who got dressed up. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I spent over $160 and 2 hours preparing for a Halloween party I was throwing. The only person who showed up was my sister, who helped me decorate. FML
Today, I went to work in my best outfit for the big corporate party we were having later in the day. When I arrived, my boss said, "You missed one hell of a party yesterday!" Shit. FML
Today, I finished making an awesome costume for a Halloween party my crush was attending. I then checked the invite and found out the party was last night. FML
Today, I was excited to finally receive my Halloween costume in the mail after the one I ordered back in September got lost in transit. Upon reaching my mailbox, I saw the lock had been broken off and my new costume had been stolen. The party is tomorrow. FML
The guest formerly known as…
Today, I went to a costume party dressed as Prince. As I walked into the party, I realized that I was the only one who hadn't received the memo that the costume part of the party had been cancelled. I spent the evening awkwardly mingling with a group of confused strangers while dressed in purple satin. FML
Spooky office vibes
Today, I went to a Halloween party with people from work. As the night passed, my boss got hammered and started throwing food at people. It was fun and games until I accidentally spilled his tenth beer. His response? To slam a hollowed out pumpkin full of chocolate mousse over my head. FML
Guess who?
Today, I walked into our office and everyone started laughing. It turns out that I'd been the only one not in on the joke to come in dressed as a character from our favorite TV show. However, I'd dressed in normal work clothes. I’m the boss. FML
Today, I went to a party dressed as a zombie. Everyone admired my hilarious "zombie dancing". Those were my regular dance moves. FML
Today, one of my coworkers called to remind me about the annual costume day at work this morning. I dressed as Pocahontas. There is no annual costume day. I was fired for dressing inappropriately in front of customers. FML
Today, I tried to boycott an 80's theme party by wearing my regular clothes. Everyone said they loved my costume. FML

Never, that's why I'm dressing up as Santa Claus from now until April.

Whoever you are OP, take pride in the fact that you have more fun than the people in your office! Now go forward and continue being awesome! :D

Along with being festive, hopefully, there was a prize for best costume. That's what my work would do. My friend just one a grand for best costume at her work.

Some might mistake you as a real ghost.
MagicGiraffe 12
Never said anything about a ghost, for all we now they could have been a Llama.

Well OP is in Africa, maybe a more native Giraffe.

It's not interesting dressing up as something you see everyday. For example you don't see a slutty cat everyday that's the MAIN reason girls dress up as slutty cats.

50- south Africa is actually pretty industrialized with a bustling city and- get this, white people!

Why have I been censored for a perfectly legitimate comment? (genuine question, not being facetious)

Hey you were just trying to take advantage of an opportunity their loss for not dressing up.

Don't they usually specify if it's a costume party?
evilplatypus 39
You'd think if it's a Halloween party specifying it wouldn't be necessary; it kinda goes without saying, in my experience. I mean, that's more or less the point of Halloween to most people (unless you're a kid; then it's all about the trick or treatin'). Any other time of the year, I imagine it'd be important to mention if it's a masquerade or not. But not Halloween. OP your coworkers are just the Halloween equivalent of bah-humbugs! (Boo-humbugs?)

It's okay OP, at my school we have a spirit week and everyone usually dresses up. The only day I participated was the white-out where I was supposed to where all white... No one else did and as a lower classman, I got water balloons thrown at me. ;-_-

Okay.

Sucks to suck.

Apparently someone didn't get the office memo. But hey, since you're the only that dressed up, you could have been the center of the party.

Don't be ashamed, be the trend setter!
Pleonasm 36
Did you dress up as a prize horse's ass?
Insane_Tea 15
I think the rest of the FML would've gone something like this. "..to add salt go the wound. A surpise costume contest was announced. I didn't even place."
