Today, my boyfriend proposed. The ring just had a piece of graphite on it. My boyfriend argued that since graphite and diamonds are both just forms of carbon, it is the same thing. FML

Maybe ask him *why* graphite in a bit more detail--either he's got some very special reasons for it and is trying to be nice, or this man is dumber than a sack of bricks and needs to hear the point of a ring.
