Today, my boyfriend dumped me because he said the relationship was too tough for him. When I asked for an example, he responded, "Like, I don't have enough time to play World of Warcraft." FML

Today, after six months of dating, my girlfriend decided to break up with me because my "obsession" of being on the computer and playing games all the time was cutting into "our time". She then told me to "get a life" and never wanted to see me again. She told me all of this on WoW. FML

I played Wow for about two years and finally broke free of it. It's funny that when you hear two people talk about the game and quitting, you can replace Wow with "crack" and it still makes sense. For example, "I quit Wow two months ago and whenever someone mentions it, I still get a little sad and anxious."

My brother's a WoW addict. He references it and talks about it in every day conversation. I make fun of him for it.

Got to love how everyone and their mother is going about... "He's an idiot, his life is ruined" and what-not, but no-one bothered to ask... what about his side of the story? There are people and people, and who's to say the OP isn't some obsessive bitch that wants to be paid attention to literally 24/7. Yes, I'm a WoW gamer, and yes, I've had girlfriends before that would constantly nag me to stop playing even though I'd play for 3-4 hours per week... usually on Wednesday too when most people aren't really that much in the mood to go out. If such a person comes into my life ever again, I'm going to do exactly what OP's boyfriend did... tell her to take a hike, because if my girlfriend can't understand that I need to play for a few hours every week... I seriously can't understand her desire to spend time at her hobby either. True, when I'm not dating, I spend a whole lot more time on WoW, but when I am... I know how to slow down and pay attention to the person I'm with. Once again... if you're complaining to your boyfriend about him playing a game... consider how much time he spends playing and how much time he spends with you. It's no different from him watching football or playing basketball or whatever. The only good part being... if it's done in moderation, you don't even need to be there while he's doing it... as opposed to him asking you over only so the two of you can stare at a TV with a football game on that you wouldn't be watching if it weren't for him. Bottom line... video games are a hobby no different from any other.
