Today, my boss gave me some mentorship. She told me, "You need to learn to let people do things for you. Until then, I'm going to micromanage your project because I want it done my way." FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Control
Today, my boss continued to orchestrate behind the scenes with my colleagues to make me look bad for her lack of organization. Then she showed up 10 minutes late to a meeting, shared that she needed a vacation, and realized that she needed to micromanage less. I've been asking her to make that change for months. FML
Today, I shouldn't have told my boss that I was interested in management. She now throws any problem she doesn't want to solve at me and either gets mad when I can't work it out or takes credit when I do. FML
Today, I got in trouble with my boss for doing what she wanted me to do. I guess she didn't think I would do it, so she did it herself. FML
Bosses gonna boss
Today, my supervisor’s first words when looking at my work were, “What is this shit?!” I explained that I'd done it exactly like she told me to. She just kept on grumbling because she couldn’t find a single thing I had done wrong, which apparently ruined her day. FML
Get on with it, or not
Today, my job as a supervisor has become increasingly ridiculous because one employee doesn't want to do the tasks I give her. My supervisor tells me to keep working with her and giving her work. When she goes directly to him, he tells her she doesn't have to do them. FML
Today, I went to my boss with concerns that my manager is dumping her responsibilities on me. He agreed and told me to just do whatever she wants. She gets paid twice as much as me to talk on her cellphone all day. FML
Can't win
Today, my supervisor told me off for doing something. When I reminded her that she told me to do it, she yelled at me for correcting her. FML
Slackers
Today, my boss told me that people from work have been complaining about me. Apparently, I'm not doing part of their jobs for them, and the other manager sometimes does. FML
Teamwork works
Today, I had a huge amount of work to get through. Two colleagues offered to help, because one had nothing else to do, and the other couldn't work until I was done. My boss got really pissed at me for "making" them do my job and wasting their time. FML
Make your mind up
Today, my boss threatened to fire me because I'm unproductive, and haven't been doing anything. He doesn't tell me what to do, and expects me to read his mind. When I ask him what he wants me to do, he gets pissed and says that I should already know what to do. FML

I hope so

She hasn't though. I'm pushing my assumptions here, but it could easily be read as "OP isn't good at working with others and taking on advice, so until he can do that on his own she's going to have to work on the project too". Besides, giving advice and taking advice are different things - OP and his boss have different roles in the company so they can't really play by the same rules. It's completely reasonable for a boss to give advice on how an employee works and not take said advice themselves if they have different tasks and working environments.

Umm? so how you supposed to learn?

Taking work smarter, not harder to a whole new level.

It's good advice. Delegating work is important, but you need to make sure those people are going to do their part as you need them to. If you learn what your boss wants done and how they want it done they soon will just ask you to do it and trust you will do it right.

This is actually a good lesson from your boss

"Yeah, no. Either you do it yourself or let me do it, I'm not a puppet for you to use at your leisure."

Lol. I don't know about you, but everywhere I've worked, we had to do to things how our bosses wanted and when they wanted. I might not go as far as calling myself a puppet, but I've been as close to puppet as a human could get.

That's a good way to get fired.

Did you know your company conducts random AI tests? Those paradoxes can be nasty on a core.

This statement is false.
