Today, it was my court date for a car accident I was involved in back in July. I had spent months preparing a case to prove my innocence. I was scheduled to appear at 10:00 this morning. I woke up at 10:15AM. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Nice try
Today, I had to go to court to see whether my driver's license is suspended for an entire year. I woke up early, went to court, and everything went perfectly, with all the charges being dropped. Unfortunately, I then woke up, and am now going to be late. FML
Today, I got a speeding ticket while driving to my court date for a prior speeding ticket. FML
Paperwork and bureaucracy
Today, I went to court because I got a traffic ticket for running a red light. While I was in court, I found out it was actually for a car I had sold years ago. FML
Today, I got so anxious while trying to fight the ticket I got earlier this month that I passed out in front of the judge. FML
Everybody needs good neighbours
Today, I got t-boned while on my way represent myself in a deposition for a lawsuit I filed against my neighbor. The other driver was my neighbor's husband. FML
Today, I had to skip class to attend a truancy court hearing. FML
It wasn't me
Today, I got a letter summoning me to court for leaving the scene of a car accident I had in London. I live in Manchester and don't own a car. FML
Today, after sleeping in, I finally sorted through a stack of mail I had been putting off and I found a Jury summons. Thinking it must be coming up soon, I checked the date, my appearance is scheduled for 7:45am on November 16th. Today is November 17th. FML
Today, I got in a car accident on the way to the DMV to take my drivers test. FML
Today, I had a rude awakening after a traffic accident the day before. I'd fled the scene to avoid having to pay hefty damage fines. I would have gotten away with it too, if my license plate hadn't fallen off and incriminated me. FML

At least the "months" you spent totaled no more than *two* months.

YDI for not setting your alarm, or for sleeping through it.

Wait, they woke up at 10:00? I'm pretty sure that most people wake up naturally once the sun has been up for four hours. Unless, of course, he had a hangover or stayed up until about two...

FYL, but honestly if it was that important to you, you'd make sure to wake up on time for it.

Agreed, if he really cared about this he'd make sure the alaram was set even maybe setting his alarm clock and cellphone if he has one.

I feel sooooo sorry for you, but it kinda is your fault! Sure something could've gone wrong, but wouldn't your body wake itself up way early out of anxiety and anticipation? Regardless, good luck getting out of this whole thing!

YDI for trying to prove your innocence. unless you live outside the US

He lives in Canada. That's why I like Guilty Beyond A Reasonable Doubt in the US. If it is something you didn't commit, you win the case.

Not in civil claims. In laypeople terms, the standard is "more likely than not" or "51% or more likely."
