Today, I woke up early and spent hours baking and icing a three-tier cake for my friend's eighteenth birthday, which is this evening. I just found out my mother threw it in the compost bin because she's on a diet and it was "tempting" her. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Bad doggo
Today, I spent hours baking a multi-layered, detailed cake from scratch for my mom's birthday. It took two seconds for my dog to devour the cake while I picked up a spoon I dropped on the floor. FML
The cake from hell
Today, I tried to bake a cake for my friend's birthday. It turned out looking more like a science experiment gone wrong than a cake. FML
Today, my parents threw out the beautiful birthday cake my aunt made me, and served celery sticks at my party because I need to "watch my weight." FML
Today, it's my mom's birthday. I woke up at midnight to be the first to tell her happy birthday. When I awoke in the morning, I decided to bake her a cake. Little did I know my whole family was going out to lunch to celebrate. I wasn't invited. FML
Baked
Today, I baked a cake for when my mum came home. I did everything I needed to do and put it in the oven, set the timer and went to do some things around the house. When my mum came home, she asked why there was a uncooked cake mix sitting in the oven. I forgot to turn the oven on. FML
Today, to be nice, I baked cookies for my step-mom as a birthday present. I burnt my hand while putting them in the oven, but I'd hoped it would be worth it. When she got home, I gave one for her to try. She took a bite, spit it out, and threw it on the floor, asking if it was a joke or if I was really trying to poison her. FML
Competition
Today, it was my friend's birthday, so I baked him a cake complete with his name written on it in homemade frosting. After I gave it to him, his mother berated me for it, saying I should have checked with her first before making a cake for her son. He's 28. FML
Today, I spent two hours making a cake that I'd promised my class for weeks. I boarded the train to school, but soon dozed off. A few minutes later, I awoke with a start and noticed a chunk of the cake missing and a homeless man next to me with frosting around his mouth. FML
Today, a coworker left a chocolate cake on the "free food" table in the office. I had a slice. She's just called to ask if she left her grandmother's birthday cake at work. She made it from scratch. Now I'm baking a new cake in the office kitchen. FML
Today, I bought my mother an apple pie. She made a face at it and said that she'd decided to go on a diet. After I'd left the house, she put it in the oven, forgot about it, and burnt it to a crisp. She then called me up to inform me that I'd wasted my money, and to get her "another damn pie." FML

Wow, that's hella selfish, I would make her buy one to make up for it.
Mirorbo 27
The amount of rage that would well up within me could never be measured by any means of the measurement system, should I have been in that situation... Your mother had a lousy excuse and I really hope she does something to make up for her selfish behavior.

Well what did you say to her?
AGhost5445 25
That OP is gonna throw her in the trash and say she was tempting her.
Eliseopwns 22
I think she said something along the lines of "That really rustled my jimmies".
9inchesSoft 11
She should have asked her to buy a new one.
perdix 31
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have been so thoughtless by leaving a giant cake right in front of you. I also don't need to buy my friend's affection with an oversized pastry -- the presence of my spirit ought to be all she wants for her birthday." Yeah, that's probably what the OP said.
xStaciexLynnx 15
I think it was along the lines of FUUUUUJUUUUUUUUH... Btw 21, you can't usually buy a 3 tier cake and get it the same night.
hinchkongfang 0
OP, your mother is a bitch.
Listerinekiss_fml 7
Yea a bitch that is gonna spend hours out of her life making another cake.
brackaman 18
Op did your mom also ground you for not telling her what her birthday present was? If so, I think she knows she's a bitch
nightwishs 13
Wiiiiin

27 So more friend can't do something nice for each other? I don't see how she is buying affection by going out of get way and making a cake for her friend. Its her 18th birthday so maybe she wanted to go all out for her.
MichellinMan 20
I find it interesting that people ask OP questions and expect them to get answered.

72) OP's can, and sometimes do, reply to comments on their FML
TheStoryOfWazza 9
And?? Just take it out and eat it!! Don't waste food!!!!
doctorhook86 25
She ruined your cake; ruin her diet by injecting bacon into her vegetables.
ProfessionalTrol_fml 14
She's probably a fat ass who knows next to nothing about dieting. Freakin idiot
p3mguin 7
I wonder if Op's bitch of a mom is one of those obese woman that walk around with those skinny jeans. I bet she opened her fridge and ate some twinkys right after that. ******* bitch.
MDTeddy 13
Op's mom is a ..... Tell her next time to ask about the cake and never throw it away. She owes someone a new cake even if she is on a diet. Also, how did Op's mom not know about it?
SexySlayer1248 18
Wow, that's hella selfish, I would make her buy one to make up for it.
Sannekee 18
Allthough that probably wouldn't feel, look and taste as good or even similar it is one solution. The other solution would be to make her help you baking a new one and let her pay for the ingredients.
FreakoHolm 6
Make her BAKE another one
TheStoryOfWazza 9
Yeah then eat it!!!
TourettesGuyFTW 26
I'd call her a bitch [right in front of her its]!
coolbrony12 3
But then it wouldn't have been as good
zandalee 20
Omg! What is wrong with her? How can you throw out a three tier cake? So sorry OP.
brackaman 18
Hire a tow truck to scrap your moms car then say “I'm sorry but it was tempting me to go joyriding”
menacingsprite 3
Or burn all her cash and credit cards and say I'm sorry they were tempting me to steal them.
datoismyname 22
73- now that's just stupid
Redoxx_fml 22
And the real icing on the cake was...
p3mguin 7
No, bringing a car to a scrapyard is the stupid thing. People are idiots on this website some time, so burning your cash is stupid but throwing a car out isn't. IM DONE
DreBeezy 9
130, you can get a car out of the pound but you can't replace probably thousands of dollars that probably benefits you as well.
mashimarox 12
You shoulda hid it somewhere! ;o
Katiekhalifa_fml 28
A 3 tier cake is pretty big...I don't think that would have worked very well.
curlyfry33 8
No no no 27, the hobo idea would be horrible, it would just end up peeing in some chair
MrSassypants 34
I usually hide cakes by eating them. I never find them again....
beccax33 4
She might of never thought that she needed it to his from anybody!
DocBastard 40
Baustigt, this is clearly a job for the Idiot-English Translation Engine. *whirr* *click* *bzzz* *DING* "She might never have thought that she needed to hide it from anybody! I sniffed paint thinner and skunk fumes just before typing this!" You're welcome.
blaackandprouud 20
You know guys, 47 only missed like two words. She said "She might of never thought that she needed it to his from anybody" so really just change HIS to HID and move TO HID so it's before IT and the sentence makes perfect sense. Two step process people.
DogsPaw 16
105- not nearly as funny though...
DocBastard 40
Blaackandproud - By your logic, her comment would be "She might of never thought that she needed to hid it from anybody" which still is a grammar nightmare. The phrase "might of" does not exist unless you're using "might" as a noun (eg, "This herculean task will require the might of 1000 men").
comeatmebroo6254 1
Well I don't think she was expecting her own mother to throw it away.
PeachesnCream88 0
I don't understand why #4 has so many thumbs down when all he said was to hide it somewhere..? That seems reasonable, i mean i have a family of 6 and i'd probably do the same...... Unless he got thumbed down because he said "shoulda"?
Mirorbo 27

Ameel_fml 19
This x100. Maybe I'm over-reacting, but cooking is something that's very important to me, and I hate to see hours of hard work even slightly ruined by crappy icing or an accidental hole poked in it. I couldn't imagine my rage if someone actually THREW OUT something I'd made. D:
MrSassypants 34
I could imagine your reaction 22. To people watching, it could be from somewhat humorous to "HOLY HELL! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!"
perdix 31
#7, I don't think rage levels could be measured -- there's no such thing as a Rage Machine. There's Rage Against The Machine, but I don't think they'd improve your mood.
Justy101 23
I agree with you 100%. Some FML's make me really angry and this is one of them.
SerendipityRose 26
Same here... Certain FML's just tick me off & this one takes cake... Sorry, I couldn't help myself... I know, I know. Thumb me down. I deserve it.
False_Stupidity 42
I found you pun funny and worthy of a thumbs up.. it just puts the icing on the FML cake.
XanderScythe 11
You know, what if op's mom lied about throwing it away? I bet she ate it.
hwkfan1 10
Send her to fat camp and let the hunger games begin!
MichellinMan 20
I fell of my chair laughing because of your picture.
toughchick14 15
Totally!!!!!
Jeffo193 13
Mmmm...at least she thought the cake looked good?
tswizz 13
Whatever happened to common sense! If a three tier cake was sitting in my fridge I wouldn't touch it even if i weren't on a diet cause it would obviously be for an occasion! Didn't it occur to her that someone has put a lot of their precious time and money into it?
nattynatters 14
Exactly. I would said I don't give a shit if you were "tempted" the cake was never offered to you. You weren't allowed to eat it even if your fat ass wanted to.
Trtny25 7
#71, that's probably why she threw it out cuz she wasn't allowed to eat it and got jealous and threw it away so no one could have it
MyaaBayyBee 6
Oh no ! Throw out whatever she eats for her diet to be equal .
SqueakyChipmunk 22
That's too obvious. Sabotage her diet! Weight gain energy bars!
DeVaughnS 5
A tone of work for you a peace of cake for her.... Lol huh huh
brackaman 18
Is the tone of work the alarm clock in the morning? That tone sucks. At least I can get some peaceful cake to calm my nerves
False_Stupidity 42
As much as the idea of a peace cake intrigues me (make cake not war?) my grammar Nazi fingers are twitching and I cant help but correct them. Its TON or TONNE not tone and your after PIECE of cake (or at least I am.. yum)
