Today, I went to see Star Wars with my brother. The entire time he talked about how scientifically inaccurate and improbable the entire movie was. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
The Force is weak with this one
Today, I sat through 9 gruelling hours of Star Wars with my boyfriend. I hate those movies with a passion and frankly would rather get a pap smear from Wolverine than watch them. Afterwards, he dumped me for yawning, saying that I didn’t take a “serious” interest in his favorite things. FML
Star Bores
Today, my boyfriend and I binged Star Wars. Now he keeps talking about how the Empire is superior to the Republic, digging up Reddit threads / YouTube videos / expressing his own political ideas to convince me of this. I just wanted to watch the movies. FML
Today, my boyfriend of two years said he would finally take me somewhere romantic. I spent my day at a Star Wars convention. FML
Thematical
Today, at our wedding, my groomsmen had a lightsaber fight on the dance floor. Everyone was laughing and the kids loved it. My wife burst into tears, started screaming that we ruined her fairytale wedding, and stormed out. Our entire relationship started when we met at the cinema when Star Wars was on. FML
Today, I was watching Star Wars : Attack of the Clones, and Yoda was using the force to move a heavy object. While in the middle of my lounge room, I instinctively put my hand up to use the force to help him, in front of my father and sister. My sister will never let me live it down. FML
Today, I had an in-depth conversation at work about how technically Luke Skywalker was never a Jedi Master. Highlight of my working day. FML
Today, I went to the movies with my boyfriend. The movie was in 3D, and he couldn't help but notice it would be much cooler if you could feel what the characters did. He spent the next two hours slapping me every time the person in the movie did, claiming the movie would be "better". FML
Darth Bore
Today, I took my Catholic girlfriend home to meet my family for the first time. My brother thought it would be civil to spend over an hour insulting her religion and explaining in detail the many ways in which "the Force" is superior. FML
Avatar II: Is Shite
Today, I took my girlfriend to see the new Avatar movie I’ve waited over 10 years to see. After it was over, she just said, "That was utter shite, why did you bring me here?" Entire experience ruined. FML
Dude, STFU!
Today, at the cinema, I sat next to a guy who couldn’t stand a minute without laughing or making comments about the film. FML

Some people don't deserve access to Sci-fi, or fantasy for that matter. Everyone has thoughts about how unlikely parts are in films, but keep them to yourself, at least until the film is over

I went to see the Jurassic World movie with some friends and their friends, one of my friends friends got so fed up with the inaccuracy of it, he throws the popcorn on the ground.

Honestly it's called science-FICTION for a reason.

And sadly, I'm one of those people who pick apart movies for scientific and physical impossibilities... Though throw in magic and all of that goes out the window with wind magic under it.

he does have a point. science fiction movies are a little inaccurate, unrealistic or just plain silly even by current scientific standards. but i just ignore em all for a good show. :)

We need more people like you. Starting with OP's brother

Of course it's inaccurate that is why it's called science 'fiction' you fiction meaning to make it up.

Took the words right out of my mouth, 27. The key word here is "fiction."
jesterinperil 28
That's almost as bad as the people who clap during movies. Just gives you more reason to see it again!
creatureman 14
When I saw it. The guy behind me kept saying what he would have done in each situation.
jesterinperil 28
I saw it and this guy next to me clapped over all the dialogue whenever a classic character showed up.
NostalgiaFreak9 43
When I saw it, clapping only happened in the theater when Han Solo and Chewbacca appeared.

I had a pretty good theater group when I saw it, we all ooed and clapped and laughed at good points during the film. The two biggest times we all freaked the **** out was over the Millennium Falcon and when Ray found Luke's Lightsaber. The rest of the time, everything got appropriate reactions.

What if they actually hire people to be loud eaters/talkers/etc. in the movies to force you to watch it again?

Well that's a waste of $50

Your friend probably didn't listen to Wu explaining that the Dinosaurs weren't real Dinosaurs, made to entertain, not to be accurate, then.
Isn't It Ironic? 24
It may not be realistic, but it's not necessarily impossible...yet. The future of DNA technology and technology in general ceases to amaze me.
MagnusDeus 24
Well come on, that movie was ridiculous. Especially since it's supposed to be set in modern day. At least Star Wars happened "a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away"
fakedsincerity 32
Time to disown him forever.
zinoxity 23
Though he's not wrong, it is just a movie. Most movies are improbable, so he should know he can enjoy them regardless. Sorry you couldn't enjoy yourself, op.
Rotbot5 11
Sorry that he might of ruin Star Wars for you OP. I consider it in the middle of my favorite Star Wars movies behind #6, and #5 being the best.
WCARlover 35
people who talk during movies in general are annoying anyway -_- Nevermind the fact that they're insulting a movie you're probably enjoying. Guess you won't be taking him to any more movies..
cheshireau 26
That is why it's called Science Fiction. Heavy on the fiction.
TheNewGuy03 29
Hell, Star Wars almost completely disregards the science, so it's more along the lines of a space fantasy film, if anything.

sadly yes
