Today, I went to see my guidance counselor. I was supposed to hear from my college about a scholarship by October 3rd. I was worried since it was already the 2nd so I went to talk to her. She never turned in my nomination. Goodbye $80,000 scholarship. FML

Today, I was supposed to hear back from a major scholarship competition. After months of waiting, during which my parents were convinced I had won, I discovered that my entry had never been received. Apparently the woman I had confirmed with had had a long day, and lied so that she could go home. FML
Today, I got an email from a Scholarship Program reminding me that they had rejected me 3 months ago. Thanks for reminding me I might not make it to college. FML
Today, my parents gave me a letter they'd forgotten about since late last year. In it was a $30,000 scholarship to a local master's program with an application due date of two weeks ago. FML
Today, my high school guidance counselor tried to convince me NOT to go to college, mainly because it's been so long since someone from my high school went to college, that she got rid of all the college information she used to have. FML
Today, I got an email stating that my scholarship request was denied, 51 days after applying with no response. I'm now forced to drop-out from my college degree because I ran out of money, and I've been unsuccessful at finding a job for two years either, thanks to Covid. FML
Today, I spent ages applying for a scholarship online. I found out on the very last page that I do not meet the qualifications for it. FML
Today, I found out that I owe my college a little over $10,000. Why? Because, due to a slight misspelling of my name, the scholarship that I have been going insane trying to meet the requirements for is not actually giving me any funding. FML
Today, I was cleaning my father's study room and wondering why I did not receive my acceptance/rejection letter from a college I really wanted. I found the acceptance letter, on his desk, also approving of a full scholarship. The deadline to confirm was a month ago. FML
Today, I called the college of my dreams to check the status of my application. Turns out they "never received" copies of my transcripts. They did however cash the $70 application fee that was mailed with them. FML
Today, I got into my dream university. I also got turned down for the scholarship and the loan that would enable me to actually go. FML

Other people will fyl and it's almost unavoidable. Some people come out lucky, but our dependantcy on other people is a gamble. It's a true shame that this was someone you trust.

Oh c'mon! The guidance counselor should have been doing her job. It's what she is getting paid for! SHE SHOULD BE FIRED! I have to deal with people like this all the time. Checking in on them constantly doesn't change a damn thing because people don't have their shit together. It's sad that this sort of thing is very commonplace. The financial people at my college are the exact same way. Thank god the teachers aren't.

Mine forgot to send in my transcripts to a college I wanted to get into...It's sad that they get no consuquence for not doing what they are paid for.
