Today, I went to an interview for a job at a company I've applied for numerous times this year. When I showed up at the interview room, I found it was a vacant office. I called and confirmed the address. I guess this was my hint to stop applying. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Canceled
Today, I got a call from the only company that asked me to come in for an interview of the many applications I submitted. I answered it even though I was at my current job. My boss heard and chewed me out. The call was to cancel the interview since the position was filled. FML
Waste of time
Today, I went to a job interview. I never applied for the job, they'd sought me out, had a phone interview, and sent samples, all before the face-to-face interview. Turns out none of the people I met with had even read my resume or writing samples. I was told I might not be a good fit. FML
Glazed over
Today, I went to a job interview. I really needed the job to keep my apartment. As I was being interviewed, the manager looked past me and stared off into space. There goes the job and my apartment. FML
Today, while despairing over having been rejected for my dream job, I received an email asking me to come back in for another interview. Then they called me to say they accidentally sent the email to all the applicants, and that they definitely aren't interested. FML
Today, I discovered out of the 20 job applications only one job called me for an interview. They told me to leave after two sentences. FML
Today, after waiting 3 months to see if I got the job I had applied for, I was told that they never received my application. Turns out that the email address that they told me to send it to was not being checked anymore and that they would be happy to consider me for the following year. FML
Today, I had a job interview. The moment I walked into the room, the interviewer said, "OK, I will interview you, but there is no way I'm hiring you." FML
Wait here
Today, I showed up on time for a job interview. After waiting for about three hours, I was informed that the manager had "better things to do" than interview me. FML
Today, I went in for I thought would be an interview for a promotion, but turns out there was no interview set up, and they'd already decided who would be the next manager. FML
Today, I got a missed call from a lady at an employment agency asking why I hadn't turned up to an information session for a potential job. Yesterday, the same lady told me the job position was canceled. FML

Yeah, if they don't have the balls to turn you down to your face, regardless of how many times applied, you shouldn't work for that company.

This was probably a TV show OP didn't know about. I know I'd watch it.

I hate when people can't just be upfront about things. They should've called and said that since OP has applied and applied and applied, and hasn't gotten hired, that obviously they wont hire him/her (didn't check the gender before posting this comment). But instead they get OP's hopes up, make them go all the way to a vacant building just to figure out that maybe they don't want him/her around. It's so stupid

A) the company isn't a ******* loser, it choses it's employees based upon whomever can fulfill a job to it's best extent. B) I can't believe if OP applied multiple times, that she wouldn't know where the job/corporate offices would be located. It just seems that she has a lot invested in this one company, and should probably be aware of such things. All that being said, the company did not handle the situation in a practical, business-like manner. Obviously this company doesn't take it's self seriously, and therefore OP is better off.

Ninjas have feelings too. Just because you couldn't see them didn't mean there was no one there.

I guess the rejection letters weren't doing the trick, and I'll bet they feared you might shoot up the place if they told you more forcefully.

If they never said you were hired after multiple applications, move on. Unless you were applying to be a ninja, there are better jobs out there. This was in reply to #42.

Hi

Go to their building and put Saran wrap on the toilet seats.

I can't believe you're such an idiot, OP. They were giving you your own private office before they even interviewed you, and you threw away the opportunity. Work on those self-esteem issues and don't pass up a chance like this again.

Heh, you're so right

You're better of without them.
