Today, I went in for an interview at my dream job. When I walked in, I got a dirty look from the front desk secretary. Turns out, the guy interviewing me was from a dating website I'm on. I'd rejected him and told him to get a life. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, while despairing over having been rejected for my dream job, I received an email asking me to come back in for another interview. Then they called me to say they accidentally sent the email to all the applicants, and that they definitely aren't interested. FML
No job for you
Today, I had a virtual interview for my dream job. Prepared as f**k. One of the interviewers turned out to be my ex, who I dumped for being too dumb. FML
Today, I applied for a job as a secretary. As I sat in the waiting room, the interviewer came out with his wife. She gave me a once-over, then said to her husband, "Hire this one. She's so ugly, you would never have an affair with her." FML
Long time coming
Today, I got turned down for my dream job. Why? Because my ex phoned the company and told them how bad I would be for the job. He phoned me and said, "Now you know how it feels to be turned down." We dated for 2 weeks, 11 years ago. I'm now married and haven't spoken to him since we broke up, so I guess he's been stalking me. FML
Waste of time
Today, I went to a job interview. I never applied for the job, they'd sought me out, had a phone interview, and sent samples, all before the face-to-face interview. Turns out none of the people I met with had even read my resume or writing samples. I was told I might not be a good fit. FML
Cartoon villain
Today, I had a Skype interview for a wonderful new job. I was calm, cool and ready to land it. But just like in a bad movie, the interviewer ended up being the creepy guy I turned down repeatedly in high school and in our 20s. He smirked and told me I could continue, but it would be pointless. FML
Discrimination!
Today, in this horrible job market, I finally got an interview with a dream company. But like the dumbass I am, I mentioned my baby in the interview and got the "look" from the interviewer. Bye bye yet another job. FML
Hard no
Today, I had an important job interview. The interviewer really seemed to like me. Instead of hiring me, he asked me out on a date. FML
Canceled
Today, I got a call from the only company that asked me to come in for an interview of the many applications I submitted. I answered it even though I was at my current job. My boss heard and chewed me out. The call was to cancel the interview since the position was filled. FML
M. Night Shyamalanadingdong
Today, I went to the bathroom after a terrible job interview. My interviewer walked in with another guy, talking about my interview, saying he was obviously going to hire the other guy because my odd-sounding name was too hard to pronounce, yet alone spell in multiple emails. FML

I figure you didn't get it huh? This is why you should be nice to people. ;)

That's why you're nice offline AND online, when people can see your picture ;D You never know who you're chatting with. You were on a dating site, too, after all. You both needed to get a life, if that's why you told him that. The only difference is you have no life or job. He has no life, but he has HIS job, and the power over YOUR job. Next time, I think a simple, "I'm sorry, but you're not my type." will suffice, won't it?

Yeah, because I mean, trying to find dates online: Definetly not the most desperate way to get a date. Rejecting people online is just dumb, thats all there is to it. If you can't get interest from people in real life, and can't get the person of your dreams online, but refuse to settle for less, you are a bitch.

thatwasobvious... are you retarded? How the hell is rejecting someone online is dumb? She wasnt interested in him so she rejected him. In your logic, even tho youre not interested in someone you shouldnt reject them. Im pretty sure youre the type of person who gotten rejected ALL the time.

I don't get why people say that. obviously we all have "lives" we just spend it doing diffrent things. we all have ou own interests. you don't deserve that job.

You have no idea what the guy was saying to OP on the dating site though, so don't be so quick to judge. For all you know, he was sending her unwanted, graphic sexual messages and dick pics every day, in which case what she said isn't exactly unreasonable. And while I think he probably didn't do anything that bad or necessarily anything at all, let's not jump to conclusions on who's at fault when we don't know the full story.

Indeed! YDI for being a bitch!

Karma's only a bitch if you are.

Um, what gender is the OP? He/she/it didn't list it on the name. Yes, the interviewer is a guy and in all likeliness the OP is a woman, but, as Drill Sergeant Hartman would say, "Only steers and queers come from Texas..."
dudeitsdanny 10
It COULD be a guy.. But dating websites typically ask you to state your sexual preference. And gay men don't normally send messages to straight men on dating sites. I say normally, because they do it on networking sites, so it's possible on dating sites.

Not really into this whole fascination with "dating sites", "Social Dating Forums", and "Websites dedicated to fornicating my mom's horse," among other things... My stance is normally innocent until proven guilty, but regardless what sex the OP is, he/she/it should find the irony in suggesting to someone to "get a life" and just keep his/her/its mouth shut both on and offline.

It's Gunnery Sergeant Hartman...Jesus Christ... Anyhow, there is a difference between someone who is just on a dating site and someone who is obsessed with it...it's perfectly reasonable to tell those people to get a life.

Dumb bitch, you're on the same dating site, so you clearly need a life as well.

If you're a bitch to people just because you can be, it shouldn't surprise you when they screw you over just because they can. karma's a bitch.

and so the guy interviewing you told the front desk secretary? thats odd
RyeBreadBoy 0
That's what I'm saying. How does the secretary know about this unless she's monitoring his dating site for him?
marc_with_a_c 3
or unless he really does need a life..

How did the secretary know that you'd rejected who was presumably his/her boss?
Boddmon 0
Yeah just what I was thinking.. HMM

Same here. Why would this guy show his secretary that stuff, and why would the secretary care enough to be giving the applicant dirty looks?
pogostick_fml 2
I'm going to assume her full name was shown on the online dating site, and when he realized that the person applying for the job was the same person, he told the secretary something like, "This is the same hypocritcal bitch who told me to get a life." It's all speculative, but it sounds the most reasonable to me.
