Today, I was telling my sister about how I am horribly depressed and how I can't function and she responded with, "Oh, shit! I've got to go Jeopardy is on!" FML

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I was excited that my sister called me for the first time in months. She asked me to stop watching "Friends" so she could use the Netflix account. Now, I still have an absentee sister and no Friends. FML
Today, my sister compared me handling the news of recently being told that I have a devastating and very possibly fatal autoimmune disease, to that of a teenager being melodramatic. FML
Today, while preparing the house for company, I got a call that my sister had a heart attack and died. My wife's response? "Great! Now you're going to be no help to me at all!" FML
Today, my depression has seemingly hit a new low when I barely reacted at all to my sister excitedly telling me that I'm going to be an uncle. I'm not going to be a fun one at this rate. FML
Today, I had an anxiety attack just from thinking about appearing on TV and being watched by a real audience. FML
Today, my dad stood by and nodded in agreement as my sister told me that my clinical depression is "getting REALLY old." FML
Today, my 35 year-old sister, who has no job or life, came downstairs and told me she knows I can hear her thoughts. FML
Today, nine months after changing my entire life when my father had a stroke and I became his carer full time, I called my sister to talk about some his irrational behavior. All I got in response was, "I just watched a sad movie, I can't deal with this right now." FML
Today, I found out my sister has a new boyfriend. That would have been helpful to know three hours ago, before I told her boyfriend, who is also my best friend, that I loved him. His response? "HAHAHA! Good one! Oh Seriously? Shit." FML
Today, during a text conversation with a girl I've been trying to get with, she complained about how crummy of a day she was having. I told her it couldn't be as bad as she thought, and she would probably get it over it soon. Then she told me she had found out her cousin had been murdered. FML

From personal experience, Depression is a terrible thing. I feel your pain. You should discuss/vent about it with somebody you're close to that's both considerate and understanding. Unfortunately, it's not something that's easy to understand.

#11, why can't you just accept the fact that people won't pause their lives for you whenever your "feeliiings" get hurt? Help them fit you in their schedule. Learn when to talk to people. Example, you don't open up about your suicide attempts with someone about to take a piss.

13, you're an idiot. If somebody is seriously depressed, they're not just having a bad day. They're having serious mental issues. If your family member came up to you and said "I'm about to go jump off a building," would you really flip on the TV to watch your favorite show?

I have had the same thing happen to me except it was another show and one of my friends, it felt like it made it worse when my friend said, ttyl i am going to watch tv. So i feel your pain.

Depression has a biological and, sometimes, a genetic basis. It is physically impossible for someone to just get over it. There's no benefit in being a douche to them. The more you are inconsiderate of the people around you the less they will bother with being considerate of you. I hope OP is feeling better.
