Today, I was passed over for the job of my dreams. I now have to watch as a girl I have on Facebook - a total moron - boasts daily about scoring the position instead. Turns out the interviewer was her uncle. FML

Today, I got notice that I didn't get the new position I applied for at work. After two interviews, pay negotiation and paperwork, as well as years of giving this place all my time, I found out my boss gave it to his friend's daughter, who has no experience or credentials needed for the position. FML
Today, while waiting for an interview at the career that I've been spending months tailoring my résumé for, I was thrown up on by my only competitor. Guess who got the job. FML
Today, I was offered the job of my dreams until the recruiters had gone through my Twitter account and had seen tweets of me calling another girl a “bitch” and a racial slur during an argument. They rescinded the offer and I’d already quit my last job. FML
Today, after spending 8 months and $11,000 on school, I was denied a job in my chosen career field. They told me they decided to go with someone with more experience. So who got the job? One of my classmates. This is her first job. EVER. FML
Today, in this horrible job market, I finally got an interview with a dream company. But like the dumbass I am, I mentioned my baby in the interview and got the "look" from the interviewer. Bye bye yet another job. FML
Today, while despairing over having been rejected for my dream job, I received an email asking me to come back in for another interview. Then they called me to say they accidentally sent the email to all the applicants, and that they definitely aren't interested. FML
Today, I went in for an interview at my dream job. When I walked in, I got a dirty look from the front desk secretary. Turns out, the guy interviewing me was from a dating website I'm on. I'd rejected him and told him to get a life. FML
Today, I found out that after interviewing for two jobs at great companies, I was neck and neck with one other person for each position. They both offered the job to the other person. FML
Today, I found out I was passed over for the promotion I've wanted for 9 months at the fast food restaurant I work in. Who got the job? The 16 year old girl I trained 2 weeks ago. Their excuse was, "She has ambition." I'm going to college for food service management. She failed her drug test. FML
Today, after interviewing for a promotion to a position that was created with me in mind, I eagerly accepted a call from my boss, expecting good news. Turns out, they found a better applicant, who they don't believe will need support from the position I currently hold, so it's being eliminated. FML

Man, I feel for you. The old "it's not what you know, it's who you know" is complete BS and unbelievably unfair, but unfortunately it's a reality that I doubt is going to go away anytime soon. Best of luck in finding other opportunities!

If she is just "some girl" you know of Facebook... do you know her in real life? Have you seen her resume? While she might come across as an atrocious idiot on Facebook it does not mean she isn't smart. She might have been qualified for the job. You sound bitter. You might not have gotten the job even if the girl hadn't applied. Maybe he wouldn't have liked your attitude and your inability to handle disappointment. The great thing about dream jobs is that thy don't always apply in the real world. Just because you wanted the job does not mean you are entitled to it. There are countless stories of people more qualified than you, Op, losing their dream jobs, losing their jobs and becoming homeless or getting divorced or dying of cancer. You have access to the internet so I won't assume you are worse for the wear. There are other things wrong with the world and some girl getting a job because of her uncle is the least of the worries. It isn't your company, you don't get to decide who they hire. If it happens that the girl is an idiot and gets fired, reapply, but don't hang your hat on the idea that you are the smartest person in the world and everyone else is an idiot and out to get you. Grow up.

Not sure about the laws there, but if you can prove that she is nowhere near as qualified for the job as you, you could sue. You can already show that she was hired not on her qualifications, you just need to show your qualifications are far better.
