Today, I was out shopping with my son and unbeknownst to me, he had secretly added a bunch of expensive games he wanted to the trolley. I was too embarrassed at the till to make a fuss as there was a huge line behind me. I watched as my normal £50 shopping bill climbed to over £400. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Get on with it!
Today, I went to the supermarket to buy my weekly groceries and only realized after a long queue at the checkout, then having the cashier scan my entire cart, that I'd forgotten my purse. I had to leave everything behind and walk out empty-handed, while everyone in line behind me gave me dirty looks. FML
Today, I went to the supermarket to get some Easter gifts for my kids. At the register, I was verbally abused to the point of tears by the cashier, for having way too many items for the 12 items or less lane. I had 13. FML
Today, my husband called me from the store, trying to decide whether or not to buy the new games console he's been wanting. I'd already purchased one and hid it, ready for Christmas Day. I couldn't talk him into not buying himself one. There goes a $500 surprise. FML
You tried
Today, in an effort to try and be closer to my girlfriend's son, I bought him an expensive Xbox game I know he desperately wanted so we could play it together. He was excited, until he realised that I that paid for it. He snapped the disc and threw the pieces in the bin. At least I tried. FML
Sorry Pat
Today, I went shopping with my two sons and my wife. We got separated after a while, and I spotted my son in the video game section of the store. I snuck up behind him and playfully slapped him on the back of the head. The kid turned around and it wasn't my son. His mom was none to happy. FML
Classic mistake
Today, I realized I'd lost my wallet when paying for groceries. I had to put all the items back and leave the store feeling so embarrassed in front of everyone. FML
Get counting
Today, as my 12-hour shift was about to finish, a young boy came in wanting to buy a $200 gaming device. His mom said he was purchasing it with his own money, which I found admirable. That is, until he took his piggy bank out of his backpack. FML
Today, I was shopping in an upscale store. As I was changing, I heard one of the snobby saleswomen say to mine "You shouldn't bother. She isn't going to buy anything." Determined to "show her", I purchased everything I'd tried on. It came to around $500. My credit card was declined. FML
Respect
Today, I went to the grocery store, but once I'd filled my cart, I realized that I'd forgotten my wallet, and because I'm not the sort of animal who just dumps stuff in random aisles, I had to awkwardly put all my items back on their shelves. FML
Haggling wars
Today, at the grocery store, the scanner at the register gave a higher price for a product than the price tag on the shelf. Apparently I was the one being unreasonable for insisting to pay the price advertised on the shelf, and not some secret price they never told me about. FML

Here's an idea. Put the damn games back and discipline your kid.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but you need to take control of your life before your son ends up the most spoiled, demanding child you've ever met. You taught him a lesson today - "Mom won't cause a scene, so I can get away with whatever I want in a public place".

I have no remorse for you. You had a choice at that moment. You're the one in control and YOU chose to let your kid have his way.

Letting him get away with that guarantees that he's one step closer to being a self-important, entitled ass. Good job, mom. *thumbs up*

So now the kid knows he can do whatever he wants in public and you won't do shit about it. YDI

I would understand if it was one game, but the shopping bill was over £400! He is probably going to continue to do this until you discipline him

Grow some backbone. You should've told him no and put the games back. I would've never done that to my mom, plus she would've (probably) whooped me if I tried that stunt.

return them

My mother would have never allowed that to happen. Way to teach your kid that you are a pushover in public. What happens next time? Step up, be the parent, and say no! I'm so sick of parents being such epic failures with disciplining their children anymore.

We get people changing their mind about products at the register all the time- we just put them aside until an associate has time to put them back where they belong. It's not making a fuss to simply request that the items be taken off the purchase.

You completely deserve it. You're the parent and should have said nope. He's going to be a spoiled rotten little shit no thanks to you. Its parents like you that make me wish my kids didn't have to grow up with this future generation. Nothing but a bunchof pushovers. Let him look like an idiot throwing a tantrum in public. People will applaud you for sayingno instead of giving in
