Today, I was feeling stressed about some upcoming exams, so I went on a nice relaxing nature walk through the nearby bushland. I slipped off a rock and landed in knee-deep mud that claimed my shoe when I pulled my leg free. I'm even more stressed now. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was spending some time alone out in the countryside, when I glanced at my boot. I saw a snake, screamed, ran like hell for my car, tripped over my own feet, and smashed my kneecaps. Upon further inspection, I realized the "snake" was my loose shoelace. FML
Mind the gap
Today, I was at a family dinner, which had gone into meltdown after my aunt said something sarcastic about my mother's drinking. I went out for some fresh air and stumbled about in the dark, unaware of the fact that a pool was being dug. I fell into the huge hole and lost a shoe. FML
Misjudged
Today, I was leaving work after a storm. They're building some new offices outside, so I had to walk on an uneven path near the construction zone. I came to a big puddle and tried to jump across to what I thought was a piece of asphalt. It was mud. I slipped and fell backwards into the puddle. FML
Today, I had my first real break from work in ages, so I decided to go hiking. Less than 20 minutes in, I tumbled a couple hundred feet down a steep hill, broke my leg and several toes, and lay there in agony for an eternity before I was finally rescued. FML
Today, I was taking my dogs for a walk, then it started to rain, and the wind went mad. I ran for cover in the trees near a bridge, slipped and fell into a river. I was soaking wet and my boots were full of water. Then to get back out of the river, I had to use stinging nettles as hand holds. FML
Today, I was at my friends' farm and we decided that we wanted to go to their old treehouse. When we got down there, it turned out my friend Cat had forgotten her shoes. Being a gentleman, I lent her my sandals. I then climbed the treehouse, fell out, and got a nail through my foot. FML
Today, I tripped over a "Caution: Slippery When Wet" floor sign and sprained my ankle. FML
Rainy day
Today, I slipped and fell in mud while running from the car to inside to avoid getting wet in a torrential downpour. I was running from the limo, in my wedding dress, to the church for my wedding. FML
A little stiff and rusty
Today, I went for a run to get in shape for the first time in ages. I put on my running shoes and hit the pavement. Halfway through, the sole of one shoe came off, and I had to hobble back home in embarrassment. FML
Today, something in my shoe was bothering me at work. After about 30 minutes, I finally had a chance to fix it. There was a squashed lizard in my shoe. FML

Trillions of years in the future, a member of some vaguely humanoid species will be stressing out about an archeology exam they have. One of the questions will read, "What do we believe the purpose of artifact 00284-B9 (recovered from ancient mud pit) was? A. Primitive footwear. B. Sacrificial totem used to lower academic stress. C. Used to honor Master Nike of the Justdoït lineage. D. All of the above."

At least it probably took your mind off the exams for a while...

If masturbating makes you 'relive' stress, you're doing it wrong. Or you have a brand new fetish

And it doesn't make you lose your shoes. Unless you're really bad at it... or really good at it.

#8 you are wrong. While masturbation builds up tension during the act, it releases the tension during ******, thus leaving you relaxed.

#8 was referring to the original comments misuse of the word "relive" when it should have been "relieved"

Stress is harmful only if you let it.

I don't know what world you live in, but too much stress can cause mental and/or physical issues. The potential symptoms list probably stretches out mile. For example, stress causes you to produce cortisol which, while it has a good antiflammatory use, most stress causes don't need that (e.g. stress due to an upcoming exam) and cortisol also causes the appetite to be stimulated (not good for people on a diet), and when comb8ned with adrenaline which also is released by stress it will raise your heart rate and create a fight or flight response will absolutely not help one to de-stress. This is among other bad effects not to mention all the other bad side effects of stress beyond cortisol levels. Yes, one, has the power to overcome stress. But it isn't easy and the more practical thing to do would be to take precautions to avoid stress such as studying in advance and get a good sleep and the stuff the college students [typically] never do. Long story short, stress is a bitch. ugh.

#15 I never said stress doesn't lead to issues. I'm saying stress will harm if you let it harm you. If you let it harm you, it will lead to the issues you've mentioned. The point is, don't let it hurt you.

I hope you have another pair of shoes. You can't take an exam barefoot or with one shoe.

You don't really need a shoe to take an exam
RichardPencil 32
Of course, you do! No shirt. No shoe(s) No service Can you imagine trying to take a test in a room with someone's smelly foot/feet?

See, I'd be okay with that shoe and all. But whenever outside it's usually wise to have your shoes laced tight (and no slip-ons).

That's one reason why hiking boots reach up over the ankle. Besides ankle support of course.

I read "bushland" as "husband" and really confused myself for 5 seconds.
