Today, while working as a waitress, an attractive woman sat at one of my tables. When she paid, I decided to be bold and write my number and "Call me" on her receipt. She put in a complaint to my manager. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Fat chance
Today, I left my number on my receipt for a cute waitress. As I was leaving the bar, she came running out and called me over. I obviously got excited. Turns out I'd forgotten to sign my slip. FML
Lovesick
Today, I was working at my job as cashier. This really attractive girl who often comes in walked in, so I mustered up the courage to ask her out by writing my number on a dollar bill. She paid and the amount her change happened to be a dollar. I go to hand her the money when she sees it and says, "Keep the change!" FML
Nice try
Today, while I was leaving a restaurant, the very handsome waiter, whom I had been trying to hit on all night, said to me, in front of everyone, "Why did you write your phone number on the table with hearts around it? You know I won't call you." FML
Today, I went to a restaurant with my boyfriend. When it came time for us to leave, I saw him write something on the receipt for our waitress. I managed to get a quick look; it was his number. FML
First step
Today, I went out with a friend to grab some food and we were served by this really cute and fun waiter. Stepping out of my comfort zone and deciding to do something crazy, I left my phone number on the bill. I got home only to realize that I forgot to pay the bill. FML
Nice try
Today, I was working as a host at a pasta diner. The hostess I was working with was very attractive and we were flirting quite a bit. A large woman walked in to be seated, and I leaned over to her and dared her to ask the woman if she wanted two chairs. She leaned back and said, "That's my mom." FML
Today, I took a friend out for what I thought was date. After dinner was over and I paid, she pulled the bill out and wrote her name phone number on it for the waiter. FML
Today, I was eating at Steak N' Shake. I noticed that the cute waitress was checking me out. When I was done with my meal she wrote her number on the ticket. So, as I was walking out the door, I turned around to wave at her, and walked into a metal bar next to the door. FML
Today, while working as a cashier, I was ringing up an elderly woman's massaging shower head, when she said, "If I had a man like you, I wouldn't need this." She then gave me her number. FML
Having multiple jobs may have its benefits
Today, I flirted with the cashier at the local bagel joint. I complimented her unique blue hair and got her number. Later on that evening, she served my girlfriend and me our food at a different restaurant. FML

It's considered unprofessional to give your number out while on the job. You can't assume just because you give it out they will want it.

You were working so passing your number to someone was unprofessional.

It sucks being a lesbian, doesn't it? When the customer is of the opposite sex, a server giving his/her phone number is considered sexy and lucky, but when the customer is of the same sex, it's suddently unprofessional and grounds for layoff. If you ask thoughtful questions like "Did you read (insert name of a queer magazine) recently?" or "Do you plan to go to the Pride parade?", or check for a Pride bracelet or brooch, then you just look creepy or like you are pushing the gay agenda. Maybe there's a Grindr equivalent for lesbians somewhere.

It's considered unprofessional no matter what your sexual orientation. It's generally frowned upon and if one does it there is some mutal interest expressed and not just giving out your number.

Uh, no. Yes, dating suck as gay people, but as a bi woman let me tell you I want neither my male nor my female waiter's number, because all I want in a restaurant is food. It's never professional and worst case you just made coming back for a customer so awkward you lost the place business. (I know this because I no longer frequent a place where a server did something similar. A man, btw.) So this one is actually not on homophobia, but yes lesbian dating/hook-up apps should be a thing. Unfortunately I can't code so someone else will have to take care of it.

A move is considered bold if there are possible bad outcomes, so you certainly made one. You probably need to get your gaydar recalibrated.

Giving your number to a customer may be taking a risk but people do not go to places to be hit on by the staff. In the same respect I am certain you dislike when people hit on you when you are working there.

You were there to work, and she was there for food service. The point I'm trying to make is that none of you were there to score dates.

Yeah, don't hit on your customers. Especially since it sounds like the only encouragement she gave you was...being pretty enough for you.

Deny it?

What an up tight b****! I’ve always found it flattering when someone finds me attractive enough to put themselves out there... man or woman and I’m straight! I mean come on! That would be a huge compliment! The lady could’ve let her down gently. Thanked her and kindly said she wasn’t interested or didn’t swing that way.
