Today, I was called up about a job I'd recently applied for. I was overly excited to tell them I'd be there on Monday. Then I remembered I canceled my car insurance due to financial difficulties. I have no way of getting there. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I got a call from a job I had applied for. Everything went great until I realized I had applied to the wrong location, across town. I'm so broke, I went to the interview anyway. It will cost me more to pay for the gas to drive there to work, than what I will actually make. FML
Cancel culture
Today, I found out that my insurance canceled my contract, claiming I hadn't paid, even though I had. I only discovered this because I backed into a car. FML
Baby you can drive my uninsured car
Today, a week after I lost my job, my car was written off by someone rear-ending me, and both parties weren't insured. I tried to look for a new job, but all of them require that you have a vehicle. FML
Today, I had a job interview. I got there as quick as I could, having to travel two hours into a city I'd never been to. When I arrived, they told me I was turned down for being too late. They'd rescheduled the interview an hour earlier and I wasn't notified of the change. FML
Today, I was supposed to start my first day of work at my dream job. However, my car had other plans and refused to start. When I called my boss to tell him I was going to be late, he told me not to come in at all and fired me on the spot. FML
Bad time for insurance denials
Today, my car broke down dead in the middle of the highway. As I was unable to get it out of the road, it was impounded, and my insurance won't help. Now I'm further in debt and struggling to get to work. FML
Today, I went to my insurance company to deal with some paperwork. One of their employees backed into my car before I made it into the building. FML
Today, I had my very first interview and pretty much got hired right away. Then I found out I have to drive 2 hours away for training. I don't have a car, license, or money. FML
Postman Pat
Today, I got a callback for a job, asking for an interview. I got very excited but also anxious because it's my first job after graduating from uni. While I was on call scheduling the interview, I realised I'd accidentally applied to the Royal Post to be a mailman. Now I have to call again and explain. FML
Today, I got called into work and I was really excited to earn some extra money. One block from getting there I get pulled over. Apparently my tags were expired, and there goes half a week's pay. FML

I have an idea. Stay up all night, the night before you have your interview. At around 3AM the freaks, hookers and gang bangers will emerge from their holes. This is the perfect opportunity to go buy yourself a Glock. Make sure you clean it. When dawn is approaching, sit out on your steps and rock back and forth with the gun in hand. Wait for the first person to drive by and shoot their tires. When they come crashing into your yard. Pull them out, change the tire and drive to your interview.

I'm so ashamed of my suggestion that he drive uninsured. Yes, I claim I have an Occam's Razor win over your solution, but your plan has so much more . . . whimsy! Why solve a problem the easy way when there's also a fun way?
FFML_314 12
Perdix! If you think this is fun, there's something wrong with you! ;P

You're just starting to figure this out? I like your line about cleaning the gun. Comedy gold!

Why drive your own car uninsured when you can kill someone else and drive their car insured?
Schizomaniac 24
My mistake completely obliterates the purpose of my comment. uninsured*

It's called being an Uninsured Motorist -- there's millions of you bastards out there all over the roads. I have to pay extra on my insurance in case I run into you. Take your chances. The odds are you will make enough money at this job to buy insurance before you get caught driving without it. n00b!

A pet hate of yours, by any chance? :)
perdix 31
Not a sincere one. It's only a few bucks. My list of pet peeves is extensive, but this tweak on my nose is way down there.

Like others are saying, drive anyway. It sucks, it's illegal, and it's a dick move on a more subdued level, but you need a job more than you need to remain secretly legal. Roll the dice and get moving!

Or use the other methods of transport that are legal..?

walk, lose weight... if it's far away get up earlier ;) with the current global job unemployment rate being so shit, you'd probably wanna hang onto it right?
FFML_314 12
Why is saying "lose weight" necessary? Do you have some sort of magical power that allows you to know what OP looks like?
deformedsurf 0
Wait aren't all unemployed people fat? All of the homeless people around here are absolute porkers!
Charlotteeexx 0
because you lose weight when you walk?
FFML_314 12
Yes, all unemployed people are fat. You're an idiot. Also, not all unemployed people are homeless. Get a clue. Yes, you lose weight, but why is it necessary to say that? OP could be underweight for all you know.
Charlotteeexx 0
I'm saying that is an advantage of walking and I think you're comments are unnecessary.
FFML_314 12
You said "lose weight" you didn't say "Walk to work, it's good for you." If you want people to take your comment in such a way. Word them better. If not, then don't be surprised when people say something.

this is rather hilarious. It's an fml for ***** sake, I can't believe how worked up some people get! LOL.
FFML_314 12
Don't flatter yourself. I'm far from worked up. Just pointing out your ignorance.
Charlotteeexx 0
wow you have such a life, looking through comments and pointing out 'unnecessary' things and going on about them. I'm so glad to have made a new friend! Bye love youuuuu! <3 xxxx

That's when you drive without insurance and do it carefully as hell. Everyone does it in the bad times.
