Today, I was at school deleting documents I no longer needed on my school account. After clicking empty trash can, I saw a final paper on political science deleted. I'm not in political science, and I wasn't deleting files on my account. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was trying to show my mother how much detail I'd put into a group project that I had to present tomorrow. I then deleted the project, thinking that I was just removing it from my phone. Everyone's research and my three days of hard work went with it. FML
Pile up
Today, I was separating my notes into two piles: one to save for exam studying and one to throw out. I finished separating, picked up the junk pile, and absentmindedly shredded it. Afterwards, I looked down to see the junk pile still completely intact. Goodbye, passing grades. FML
YouTuber brain
Today, I accidentally deleted my YouTube account because I was trying to eliminate distractions from school. My dumb self eventually realized all I had to do was stop uploading, and return to it during my vacation. FML
Today, I was told that, although I was sick on the last day before break, they would still accept the 24 page essay that I had written. Tonight, as I went to print it out, I found that my dad had "cleaned up a bit" on my computer, including the documents from last semester. I have school tomorrow. FML
Today, my mother decided to "help me" by throwing out the stack of papers on my desk. Unfortunately, those were all my notes for my final exams. FML
Today, whilst cleaning out his desk, my dad "accidentally" threw away my summer homework. That's 100 pages, over a duration of 2 months. School starts in 3 days. FML
Today, I realized how much I'm on the computer. I tried to "CTRL+Z" on something I wrote down on my paper. FML
Boil 'em, mash 'em, stick 'em in a stew!
Today, I was writing an essay while sleep-deprived. In between actually writing, I started typing my thoughts. It was only after I’d submitted the essay that I realized that I hadn’t deleted the random words. My teacher can see my early-morning rambling about potatoes. I have no way to delete it. FML
Oh no…
Today, I went through my spam folder. I found out that I'd received several emails telling me that I have been sending emails containing essays for a class of mine to the wrong address. The term ended yesterday. FML
Today, I went to check my grade, which was posted for an essay for my comp 1 class. I got a zero. I was devastated only to find out I never actually clicked the submit document button. My grade dropped 20 points. FML

Might wanna find out whose stuff you were deleting and find someone who can help you recover it.

Nah. Just download and run Recuva. It'll get it all back
TheNewGuy03 29
^ I second that notion. Recuva and similar programs are pretty powerful and can, erm, recover most things from places you never thought possible. It's worth mentioning that sometimes, it will only partially recover files, which, in most cases, is next to useless, because the files don't open. It shouldn't be the case with documents. As for OP, YDI, obviously. Look before you delete.

hahaha. Please don't tell people that shitty program is worth two *****, because its not.

80, how can you tell someone something doesn't work and is shitty when the product does exactly as advertised?

Obviously don't know how deleting documents works. Once you click erase in the trash can it's gone forever

Well let's hope that person backed up their work! Although how can you not notice until the end? Like surely you'd read the file name and know that they aren't your documents.

But how did OP even get logged onto someone else's account without being cognizant of it?
pink_raindrops 26
If its a school computer the op probably sat at the wrong one by mistake. Our school library had like 30 computers, I've sat at the one next to mine when going back to the computers. I did realize right away though, I don't know how they'd delete things without realizing.

Contact you school's IT people ASAP. There's a chance it's still recoverable in some form, as most stuff is not gone forever when you delete it. The sooner you get it checked out, the sooner there's a chance this other person isn't totally screwed over.

It is when these things happen you set fire to your computer and move to Mexico

How'd oh he access to someone else's documents? They must have stayed logged on or something. Sucks for them. And sucks for your conscience OP.

That's why one should log off a personal account on a shared/public computer when finished. At least no one can trace the deletion to OP.
