Today, I was at an interview for one of the top universities in the U.S. Everything was going great until I choked on my own saliva and almost threw up on the interviewer. FML

Hey guys, its OP here! Just to clear a few things up, I was the one applying to the college, not interviewing another person. Sorry it was a typo, but in terms of the college I am hoping they will look at the big picture rather than focusing on the one mistake.

As long as he didn't mutter "community college" while pretending to cough, you should be fine.

I'm quite sure you are not the first nervous student to be interviewed. The interviewer might forgive you.

It could have been worse, at least you didn't actually throw up on them.

You might be forgiven, if it was going as well as you think then one mishap won't affect it too much

Tell them you were choked up on the possibility of this great job.

That would have been a great response if the OP had been going for a job instead of applying for University.

That happens to more people than you would think.

Eep...I hope the interviewer overlooks it and decides that your answers were acceptable enough!

Ah I absolutely hate it when that happens...hopefully it won't affect your scores.

"Almost." Look at the bright side, things could have gone a whole lot worse OP.

the next thing you choke on after joining the college is your student loan...be ready for that...best of luck for your studies...
