Today, I've now received my 73rd email in two days about my masters group project on policy recommendations for security reform. One group member has helpfully rewritten everything, and our project is now titled "Zeus's Earthly Kingdom." It's due today. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Dogshit code
Today, one of my colleagues was asked to rewrite an entire project, which I wrote last week. I'd spent more than 4 days writing it. FML
The ole answer/forward conundrum
Today, I "answered" an email instead of "forwarding" it. As a result, there is a chance that my Master's thesis supervisor gets a message from me starting by the F-word, and complaining about my bad work and inability to understand a deadline. FML
Updated
Today, I'm desperately trying to complete a project for a client. However, I have to stop every hour to provide the client with an update of the progress. The deadline is in mid July. FML
Despair
Today, I'm grading final projects for a junior level college class. A student finally turned in their work, after months of encouragement and coaxing. Half of it was plain wrong, the rest had so many spelling and grammatical mistakes, it appeared to be written by a drunk autocorrect program. FML
Damn kids
Today, and for the past three months, I've been stuck in a group project with three students who spend 90% of their time talking to each other. This project is mandatory to graduate, and a team effort is practically required in order to do well. I can already feel senioritis kicking in. FML
Runner up
Today, I finished a huge project for work. It took 3+ days and I was very proud of it. Except when I submitted it to my boss, he said that he'd already asked another person to do it. He used that person's project, not mine. FML
Today, I finished a 6-part project. It took me 7 hours of straight work because my partner decided I should do it alone. I then learned that the reason my partner did not help me was because the teacher e-mailed the leader of every group, saying the project was cancelled. FML
Many such cases
Today, I met up with my group for class. We were doing some final checks on the project we've been working on all semester, when I realized something about one guy's work seemed off. I googled it and found out it's almost completely plagiarized. It's all due in the morning. FML
Great replacement
Today, my boss dropped a highly important and dense report on my desk that had to be finished by the end of the day. After the initial panic attack and hours of scrupulous work, I finished. She then asked me to pick up the revised copy, where my name was replaced with hers. FML
Time flies
Today, I had a mental breakdown because I have a 10,000 word final project due on Monday and I have only 800 words written so far, because I have been working on other classes and trying to be outside with my friends in the nice weather this week. FML

This is why when the option is there, is to choose to work alone

If the policies on security reform are about Mount Olympus, you're golden. You have to figure out how to keep those mere mortals where they belong. I have these same problems in the Bastard Ivory Tower.

The same Bastard Ivory Tower where you sit on a golden throne sipping 1957 fermented wine?

No. It's two towers down from that one.

Are you sure? I thought that the one with "Bastard Tower" inscribed on the front was Doc's

Number one: Group projects pretty much always blow donkey balls... Number two: You're pretty much ******, nuff said... Number three: Find the douche bag and ram the report down his/her throat... Number four: Enjoy your "extended" semester!

If it was a group project why did you let one person "helpfully" write it? You probably just threw all the work on the guy and he's just getting back at you.

You need to improve your reading skills. It says "helpfully REwritten", which means they'd already written it before he decided to **** it up. But let's say you're right, and they did give him all of the work. Even then, doing that would not only compromise their grade, but his too. He's apart of the group, no?

Haha, my last group project was called Violent Dysentery. I wonder what it was called before they renamed it...

I hope someone saved the original! If not, YDI!!

Ah, it's never unanimous.

Thunderbolts hurled from Mt. Olympus would be a security reform we can believe in. So would being randomly raped by a bull or a swan. You're lucky to have been associated with such a smart group.

I thought it was every woman's dream to be ravaged by the god-king himself in bird form...

That depends on whether you want to give birth to a demigod, or don't want to get punished for tearing the tags off mattresses;)

I he rewrote it, shouldnt at least one of you have the original still? I always keep a copy of the best draft when doing a group project, and I also make sure to turn in the paper that has everyone's assignments on it with how the project was divided up so if one person falls short the teacher knows who it was. Some teachers can be assholes about it, but of you handle the situation right and explain what happened and how you worked hard to keep a good grade, they will usually help you out if your group mates screw you over. If you didn't even try to salvage your grade, you YDI.
