Today, I tried to charge my phone at school by removing the socket for the fan. All the computers in the room turned off. I accidentally removed the power cables for the computers and got suspended. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, at school, I got stuck in the elevator and was about to panic before I remembered I had my phone. I called my mother and she called the school to tell them that I was stuck. They got me out in a few minutes and then confiscated my phone and gave me two detentions for using it in school. FML
Today, I was at the library, working with some classmates on our major semester project. I accidentally killed power to the row of computers by me. I've never had so many enraged faces looking at me before. FML
Today, I tried to fix my laptop charger by fiddling around with it using metal tweezers. Not only did I forget to unplug the cord and shocked myself, I also ended up breaking the charger completely. FML
What did you expect?
Today, I stole a classmate’s graphic calculator because I couldn’t afford one. She reported it missing to the professor. He wouldn’t let anyone leave class until it turned up. Not even saying I had diarrhea had him let me go. In fact, he told me to empty my backpack right there and then. I’m suspended. FML
Today, while trying to get my phone to charge, I shoved in the cable harder and harder and tried to wobble it so my phone would charge. After snapping the USB input from the force, I saw the plug was switched off. FML
Today, my phone stopped charging. I panicked because I can't really afford to get it fixed, and it's too stressful a time at my last semester at university to not have a phone. I took it to the repair shop, and the man turned it off and on again. it works perfectly. I'm a total idiot. FML
Today, a strong storm knocked the power out at our office. I was dismissed five hours early, had my desk locked up and was walking toward the doors to leave when the power came back on. FML
Today, while I was out of the office, I'd left my phone charging inside. My boss informed me that since I am clearly running up her electricity bill, it will be deducted out of my already nearly non existent paycheck. FML
Working too hard!
Today, after spending 6 hours straight working on a project at school, I decided to call it a night. The instant I set foot out of the lab, the building started screaming. The maintenance guy had set the alarm without telling me. The police had to let me out. FML
Likely story
Today, I was doing an online live exam with the camera on when the power suddenly went out. FML

Just unplug random devices without checking what they're plugged into so you can steal electricity from the government. How could that go wrong?
Lilo4life 26
Just find an open outlet, there everywhere at school. Don't be so glued to technology you have to unplug something possibly important so you can text.

Not stealing from the government, it's stealing from the power supplier

Technically he's stealing it from himself in a way, or he would be if he paid taxed

That is pretty funny. Feel bad for you but now just say you did it because you were about to get nudes and your phones was at 1%

Yeah, 'cause that will go SO well

Yeah, he's a minor and that's kinda illegal

Really, you shouldn't have your phone at school nor should you be trying to charge it during school time. Unplugging cables without knowing what they are for is always going to be a disaster.

Yah! Give them a break because everybody does it! No.

When I was in high school, which was a few years ago, we were allowed to have our phones and use them at certain times, and most teachers let us charge them. They might have similar rules. And if not, it's really not deserving of a suspension anyway.

Actually, I am currently in high school and I bring my phone to school because I usually need to walk home, therefore I need plenty of charge for safety reasons. I can't keep my phone in my locker because phones are commonly stolen from lockers. Also I have to drive with a friend to take additional courses at another school. As you can probably assume, driving with teenagers isn't exactly the safest and my parents can't give me a ride, which is why I again need my phone for safety reasons. So, yes, it can be very reasonable for a teenager to bring their phone to school.

I'm currently in high school and the teachers don't care if we use our phone in class as a matter of fact I'm typing this comment in my advisory class

I don't know where you live but where I live everyone has their phones with them at all times, to the point where lots of people and 2-in-1 phone case wallets.

It maditory at my district grades 6-12 so we can do "class room activities" on them and now they are asking parents to get data on them so it don't slow down laptops

I think the suspension is probably for losing everyone god knows how much work rather than for having a phone in school.

That's pretty cool dude my school just got Google chrome books for everyone for school stuff the only problem is that they're tiny but we do use it for school a lot but you can do a lot of stuff with it for fun like youtube Netflix and flash games

phones do much more than texting... maybe texting wasn't the goal? he was in a *school* you know.

Judging by the fact that OP removed the power cables for computers, I'm assuming they were in a computer lab or something like that. Computers can do everything that phones can do and more, except text and call. If it was school related the OP could have used a computer. So whatever OP was doing wasn't so important that they had to unplug all the computers. Probably texting.
drayloon 50
90% of charging cables nowadays have the option to charge via USB anyway, couldn't OP just plug it into the computer?
whysojealous 18
#33 I was about to say that because that's what we do at our school since its a hassle to bring a plug
Massage_dude 7
More importantly, they should be studying or listening and taking notes...phone should be for emergency situations or free time.

sometimes I use my phone to take notes....

I never understood how all my classmates always needed to charge their phones during school. Do you just not charge it overnight or are you actually on it all day during school?
TheMusicLover 16
If we were even caught with our phones visible, it was confiscated for a week. Had to be switched off between 9am and 4pm.

I, too, spend my afternoons in a computer lab unplugging entire collections of cables so I can send my friend that hilarious meme. Have a little common sense, man. If the cable is thick and difficult to remove, it probably doesn't belong to a table fan. I think, for your own safety (and stupidity), suspension was the best route.

He's just going to get more stupid missing school.

just plug your usb into the computer

Why would you ever think that's a good idea to begin with? Even if you thought it was fan that's still a pretty dumb move no offense.
