Today, I spent two hours filling out an online application and questionnaire for a potential employer. The application stated that there were no right or wrong answers and to answer truthfully. I was automatically rejected. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I started to fill out a job application online, with age being one of the first things I put in. After half an hour and 40 questions, I hit submit. I was then told that I wasn't old enough to apply. FML
How you remind me
Today, I was rejected by a company I applied to. When I was writing my application, I spent so much time on their website researching that the ads on my browser are almost all for their products. It's like getting rejected again with every click. FML
Today, I eagerly applied for a high-salary, fully supportive graduate program that I qualified for. There were 5 steps in the application process. I was turned down after the first one. FML
Canceled
Today, I got a call from the only company that asked me to come in for an interview of the many applications I submitted. I answered it even though I was at my current job. My boss heard and chewed me out. The call was to cancel the interview since the position was filled. FML
Lying and scheming
Today, I found out that I didn't get a job because I failed the psychological analysis. It told me to answer each question and tell the truth. So I did. I asked my friend, who got the job, if she told the truth. She said no. Apparently you have to lie in order to get a job. Sorry for being honest. FML
Today, my job application for McDonald's was rejected. This is the second time. FML
Waste of time
Today, I went to a job interview. I never applied for the job, they'd sought me out, had a phone interview, and sent samples, all before the face-to-face interview. Turns out none of the people I met with had even read my resume or writing samples. I was told I might not be a good fit. FML
Today, I filled out an online application for a internship. I didn't have all the info I need to complete it, but it wouldn't let me leave anything blank so to move along I filled in crap answers. I pressed "Save". It sent my draft in. I now have to explain that "Jesus" isn't actually my reference. FML
Today, I received a series of rejection letters from jobs, one after the other. Last night, I stayed up into the wee morning hours to apply to campus jobs I'm not qualified for, because I was classified as a part-time student due to an administrative error. FML
Long goodbye
Today, I got a call from a potential employer. They spent five minutes explaining job duties and I listened with anticipation. Then they spent five minutes explaining why I wasn't the right person for the job. FML

There are no right or wrong answers, but they are looking for somebody to work for them. So if the question was "Do you drink?" and you put "Yes, even while driving" the answer is not wrong, but you won't get the job :/

If at first you don't succeed, you aren't Chuck Norris.

There are always right and wrong answers for a job application, because the MBA attitude is usually very tool-like.

aren't the online questionnaires usually psychology tests to make sure you are mentally capable or of sound enough mind to do the job?

Thus, the reason people lie in applications

When it comes to apps exaggeration and lies are expected. The odds they'll catch you are low. Only about 30% of companies properly screen. On those Extremely Disagree to Extremely Agree, always go extreme on each question. Moderation is ALWAYS wrong. If you can't pass those tests you want even get an interview. Those who pass are marked green, those marked yellow only get interviewed if the greens mess up. Those marked red are blackballed for a about 6 months to a year. These are personality tests. They say they don't matter but that's BS! If you get an interview odds are you're in. Just don't screw it up and you'll be in the clear.

Obviously that was the test inside the test, don't always believe everything you read on the Internet, sometimes the wikipedia answers haven't been corrected yet.

If there were no wrong answers, what would be the point of the test?

You never answer truthfully on those things. Always answer what you would assume they would want in a good employee.

Thing is, if you answer *too* perfectly, the scoring mechanism on lots of these things will assume that you're lying because you're trying to "game" the test.
