Today, I spent hours delicately writing out what seemed to be a beautiful poem to my girlfriend. After I sent it to her, I kept eyeing my phone to see her surprised message. No, the only response I got was, "You may want to use a spellcheck." FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
National bard
Today, my boyfriend asked me to write him a poem, as I am an avid writer. Happily, I agreed. After hours of working, I proudly presented it to him. He read it, laughed, and said, "No babe, I meant a real poem." Maybe I should rethink my career choice. FML
Love language
Today, I spent two hours perfecting a really romantic text message to my boyfriend for our one year anniversary. I listed all the things I loved about him, and recalled some of our best times together. Two minutes after I sent it, he replied, "Huh?" FML
Today, I sent a message on Facebook to a girl I really like. She replied, "..." It took me three hours to realize she'd actually written it. I thought it was just Facebook telling me she was typing. FML
Everyone's a critic
Today, I sent a love letter I'd written meant for my crush to a friend so she could evaluate my prose before I actually sent it to him. For some reason, my emotions got the best of me, and I mistakenly CC'd my mom. She replied with three crying-with-laughter emojis. FML
Today, I decided to write a romantic email to my boyfriend describing how much I love and miss him. An hour later, I got an email back saying, "I think we need to discuss this." It seems I sent it to my teacher by mistake. FML
Today, I texted my girlfriend a long, heartfelt message this morning. Her response? "What do you need? Or is this even really you?" FML
Self sabotage
Today, I spent an hour meticulously crafting the perfect text to ask my crush out. Just as I hit send, I realized I'd accidentally sent a screenshot of the conversation to my crush instead. Now they know my level of commitment: zero. FML
Today, I wrote a text to the guy I've had a crush on for two years. I typed "hey" and put my phone down, not ready to send it. A little while later, I heard it buzz. The reply said "Um... what?" Apparently my sister had added "I'm a shitty prostitute" to my text and sent it. FML
Today, I texted my girlfriend a long heartfelt loving message for our 2-year anniversary. Her reply was just "K." FML
Today, I sent my girlfriend a long-overdue message telling her I feel like she doesn't really care about me any more, that it seems like she only ever calls me when she needs money, and that I'm even starting to suspect she may be cheating on me. 14 hours later, she replied: "TL;DR". FML

Seriously, you sent a poem with misspellings? That's like an insult. "Here, I wrote you a poem, but I didn't care enough to bother proof-reading."

it's okay! don't give up hope but your gf does seem quite ungrateful. consider being with someone who appreciates you.

i would have appreciated the sentiment as long as your spelling wasn't so bad that she couldn't understand the sentiment...

This. I'd reply the same way the girlfriend did if someone wrote me a poem that was filled with misspellings. If you really spent hours writing it, was it so hard to make sure everything was spelled correctly before considering it finished?

Delicate? It's thoughtful of you to write your girlfriend poetry, but I'm laughing at the thought of someone 'delicately' typing out poetry on a cellphone. Maybe you're a little too descriptive and melodramatic for your girlfriend? Find someone who gets you. I hear there are a lot of girls looking for their very own Edward, maybe one of them?

I think maybe it's a troll or someone trying to make a funny, because the nature of the comment seems this way.

hey capilot, ever heard of e.e.Cummings? he wrote poetry with no capital letters or punctuation. proper spelling is not necessary to get a beautiful thought across.

I have a friend who does not know how to punctuate/spell for his life, and people think he's 5 online, when he's 21. But of course he has autism... I really don't think you have an excuse OP, considering this FML was decently written. If you cared about your GF's opinion, you would have written it with your best spelling.

Why would you do that anyway? Guy poetry gets scratched into shithouse walls with their fixed blade buck knife and goes like this; Those that write on shithouse walls Rolls their shit in little balls Those that read these lines of wit Eat those little balls of shit. So unless you are an amazing poet, knock it off or someone be along to shred your man card. You want to do something to get yourself laid, fix a car or build a bridge to earn some money to buy her flowers and a teddy bear. If you feel the need to take it to the poetry level clean something for her.... But use some power tools when you do it. If you ever do write bad poetry again suck it up, and don't whine about on a message board. The dewussification of America continues.

I'd love to get poems from my significant other. Even if they seem lame or the spelling sucks, atleast it's the thought that counts. Plus if this one was on his phone and it took him hours to write, then I bet he was too tired to go back and check what he wrote.
