Today, I spent a full hour working on my British accent. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I spent four hours practicing funny voices. I have literally nothing better to do all day. FML
Bonjour!
Today, while working alone, I decided to just try some random impressions, and so I ended up doing a French accent when a customer walked in. To avoid embarrassment, I had to continue faking the accent as he struck up a long conversation with me. FML
Today, for the second time this week, I was asked to stop putting on such an obviously fake "British" accent. I am British and have lived here all my life. FML
Today, my mom thought it would be a good idea for me to talk with a British accent during my job interview to make me sound smarter. I'm applying for a job at McDonald's. FML
Today, while on my break at work, my workmates convinced me to perform my "Indian accent" piece. Everyone laughed while I was doing it. Everyone, that is, but my Indian boss. FML
Why would you do that?
Today, my best friend and I went to the movies. There was a hot cashier, so I thought it would be cool to talk in a British accent to try and be sexy. I walked up and started talking when he interrupted me and said in a very heavy British accent, "I know you're faking. You can stop now." FML
Today, at work, I was helping someone who really sounded like she had a Boston accent. So, I asked her where she was from. She has never been out of state. Turns out she has a speech impediment. FML
Weird flex, but okay…
Today, I went through a fast-food drive-thru and gave my order in a perfect British accent for fun. When I got to the window, the cashier handed me my food and said, "I love your accent!" Caught off guard, I replied, "Oh, thanks a lot!" in my normal New Jersey accent. The confusion on her face was priceless. FML
What word was it?
Today, a tourist from an English-as-second-language country taught me a new word. In English. FML
Today, I had my first interview. Everything was going well until I made him repeat his name numerous times, as I couldn't understand what he was saying due to his thick accent. FML

why didn't you just paint the walls and watch them dry? or watch some grass grow?

So was it an English, Irish, Welsh or Scottish accent? There's no such thing as a 'British' accent. I'm assuming you mean it as in Queen's English, which I've only ever heard from the Royal family or American Tv shows

Lol and if you were to practice your american accent, it would be nore effective to play WOW and eat burgers.

And if I were to practice my British accent, it would be more effective to go around yelling at pit bulls and stuffing my face with crumpets. (p.s. no one in America likes World of Warcraft.)

Why is this an FML? What idiot thinks boredom is FML material? Is there no quality control anymore?
Futacy 30
No, it's not the boredom, but it's the fact that OP had a full hour on her hands to do something weird that makes her feel like a loser (even though she probably isn't).

I spent a full hour last night perfecting my Russian accent.

FML is getting lazy if crap like this gets accepted.

It's probably still shit. Very very few Americans can do a decent English accent.
