Today, I sent an email to my boss saying I'd fixed a glitch in our mail servers. He called me later, angrily shouting that I'd done a piss-poor job of fixing it, because my email had spammed his inbox with several hundred duplicate messages. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Tech report
Today, due to a change in our internal system, I set up an email filter at work that sent all incoming messages to spam. My boss had been sending me urgent updates all day, and I only realized when she came over and asked why I’d “gone radio silent.” FML
Today, my boss reprimanded me for a huge screw-up that he was responsible for. FML
Today, my boss tried to fire me for not emailing him a screenshot to prove my email wasn't working. FML
Freudian slip
Today, I accidentally sent a text message meant for my best friend to my boss. The text was about how much I hated my job and my boss's constant micromanagement. FML
I'm not paid enough for this shit
Today, my boss asked me to send an email on his behalf with an important report attached. I've already received 3 responses from directors commenting on poor spelling and factual errors. I get paid 1/4 the salary of my boss and he can't even write properly. FML
Overachiever
Today, due to being stressed and overwhelmed by my tasks, I made a mistake and completed a few of my colleagues' tasks as well. When I informed my boss about it, he said that I did an outstanding job, but I shouldn't have messed with other people's documents. As a result, my promised raise is cancelled. FML
No fun allowed
Today, I sent an email to my boss about a sensitive project. After hitting send and getting a response, I remembered I'd set my automatic reply to say, "I'm currently out of the office, enjoying a much-needed break from all the idiots I work with." My boss was not amused when he replied and got the automatic email in return. FML
Manager of the week
Today, my boss yelled at me for ignoring emails on my day off. Our emails are only accessible from work desktops, so I’d have had to be at my desk to answer it, which I had to explain to him 3 times before he understood. This is what happens when CEO’s promote their nephews to middle management. FML
Spelling Bee
Today, I made it onto my boss's shit-list, after pointing out that he'd misspelled "customer" as "costumer" 6 times in his report, and "college education" as "collage education" twice. It'd be a dick move on his part even if making corrections like this weren't part of my damn job. FML
Today, my boss put me on suspension for violating company policy by having non-work related mail in my inbox. They were spam emails. FML

Can't see how OP doesn't deserve this. But this is just how these things work... Fix a bug, get ten more. You just gotta keep fixing them as they come.

I check FML on my phone and pics show up pretty small. DocBastard, what's that a picture of?

I'd say Doc's pic is a classic case of redforeman-itosis, but I could be wrong.

I really really hope that you're not with IT.

They kind of have to be. What kind of business lets some other person access to the backend of the mail servers?
Migole 36
And your life sucks because?? Because you thought you could do the job but made it worse instead? Maybe know what you can do the next time you offer to "fix" something :/

At least you didn't spam him with penis enlargement ads, then he'd really be mad...

Or maybe he'd thank him for that

Unless that's your job, at least you tried! You can never really win with bosses, it seems.

If his boss told him to do it, it's obviously his job.
feldco1 17
It doesn't say his boss told him to do it though.

Normally I feel bad for those in FMLs, but after the shooting today these people need to realize how lucky they are for having just this happen to them.

I used to care about shootings, then I took an arrow to the knee (I deal with tragety with humor sorry if I offended anyone)

Kind of irrelevant. People come here for a laugh and probably don't need to be reminded about this incident.
