Today, I saw a letter from Geneseo that invited me to apply to the honors college. Excited, I wrote the required two page essay on how I am organized. I then saw the strict deadline was March 15th. My little brother thought it would be funny to hide my mail. For the past seven weeks. FML

Today, my parents gave me a letter they'd forgotten about since late last year. In it was a $30,000 scholarship to a local master's program with an application due date of two weeks ago. FML
Today, I was cleaning my father's study room and wondering why I did not receive my acceptance/rejection letter from a college I really wanted. I found the acceptance letter, on his desk, also approving of a full scholarship. The deadline to confirm was a month ago. FML
Today, I was accepted to the college of my dreams. Then I checked the address. Turns out, the letter was meant for my neighbor. I was actually denied. FML
Today, I got a large envelope from a college I applied to earlier. My mom, expecting big news, made my family gather round as I opened it. It ended up being a letter of rejection from not just that school, but all three campuses of the state college. FML
Today, I found out that my dad, thinking it was an advertisement, threw away a letter from the college I applied to. FML
Today, I was excited to hear that I received three of my grad school recommendations in the mail from a very busy professor. They need to be submitted sealed, and of course, my nosy mom decided to open them. FML
Today, I received yet another rejection letter from a college I'd applied to. After crying for a week about how lousy I felt, my older sister gave me all 6 of the acceptance letters she'd been hiding. Turns out she's been forging rejection letters and keeping the real ones in her room. FML
Today, I went to an Honors Convocation for my school. I received a letter a few weeks earlier telling me I received an award. Surprised and proud, I invited my family to join me to see what award I was receiving. I couldn't find my name in the program. I was invited by mistake. FML
Today, while reading over my sent application email to a job I have been trying to get, I found out my brother had put "Heil Hitler!" as my signature. FML
Today, I got a letter from Yale Law School saying I got a 4 year full scholarship. I called my dad crying and read the whole thing… even the bottom of the letter, which said, "April fools' ! Love, Mom and Dad." FML

I'm in the honors college and Geneseo so that really blows that your brother did that, its a nice 2,000 a year. If you would've gotten in as a freshman, chances are you can try to get in as a sophomore.

#48 Most colleges give you a prompt that you have to follow, or at least a set topic to write about. I highly doubt OP just said "OOOOOO Honors college?! Let me write about how organized I am!"

Every 'honors' program at any college I've gone to or heard of was a stupid joke. All it usually means is you write an extra paper about your feelings for about 2 classes per year. Most of the honors students I knew are dumbasses because the really smart people didn't want to bother with those lame programs, because real honors programs like Tau Beta Pi (for engineers) don't require application - but are based on merit in college.

Report him to a postal inspector or the police. That's a federal offense and he can go to prison. Or, put Imodium in his food for seven weeks. He'll have horrible constipation the entire time.

That's not even funny. That's just awful. And #50 is kind of an ass. I hope they get kicked out of the honors program!
