Today, I realized why my water bill has gone down so much. My 16 year old daughter now only feels it necessary to shower whenever her boyfriend is going to come over. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Welcome to adulthood
Today, I confronted my 18-year-old daughter about her excessively lengthy showers. She said she didn't see the big deal, considering the water "comes free with the house." No dear, it doesn't. FML
Savings
Today, I've found that the water bill has been much lower than usual as of late. I then realized that this is because I'm so depressed and hardly get out at all, that I've stopped showering or even taking care of myself in general. Who do I have to impress, anyway? FML
Today, my boyfriend pointed out that the water bill is getting kind of high. I suggested that we shower together to save water. He said he'd rather deal with the high water bill. FML
Bless her heart
Today, my 17 year-old reacted with shock and horror when she learned that a single utility bill can amount to more than 200 dollars. FML
Cheap and gross
Today, I was complaining to my boyfriend about our excessive water bill. He then says, "Don't look at me, I don't even shower." FML
Today, my daughter spent three hours crying and having a temper tantrum over being forced to have a bath after four days without one. My daughter is 16. FML
Today, my mother told me to take a quick shower. When I got out, she told me I took too long, and now I have to pay the utilities bill. My shower was two minutes long. FML
The pits
Today, my mom revoked my shower privileges for a week, all because I'm “using too much water.” I'm the kind of person who will smell like garbage after one skipped shower. FML
Today, my roommate decided to go on a group trip instead of paying our water bill. Now I can't shower until next week. FML
It's the new thing!
Today, my 14 year-old daughter threw a massive fit over showering. She dislodged the shower curtain rod and threatened to beat us with it if we ever force her to shower again. FML

Try a scare tactic and ask her what's going to happen if her boyfriend comes over to surprise her. I bet that'll put her on a regular shower schedule.

How considerate.

I don't understand peoples issues with not showering every day. People survive weeks without showers; it's not like you get fungal growths or anything.

Her boyfriend doesn't come over a lot does he?

Invite him over more.

Well at least your water bill decreased a lot. That's the bright side. Maybe, just maybe it means she showers to get ready for him to come over so she's fresh and nice for him ;)

Invite him over more for surprise visits.

Unless you're running around working up a sweat or it's really hot, or you have unnaturally high perspiration, not everyone needs to shower daily. Your hair is actually healthier if you shampoo only once every 2-3 days, because shampoos strip it of nutrients, so you don't even need to wash your hair on a daily basis, let alone your body. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if the whole daily shower thing was only promoted by toiletry companies. Of course, technically according to the AHA, you should be exercising on most days of the week, which means she should probably be showering at least 4 days per week if she's exercising, but still that's not every day.
