Today, my 14 year-old daughter threw a massive fit over showering. She dislodged the shower curtain rod and threatened to beat us with it if we ever force her to shower again. FML

Today, my daughter spent three hours crying and having a temper tantrum over being forced to have a bath after four days without one. My daughter is 16. FML
Today, my four-year-old daughter started screaming and lashing out at me as I was getting her ready for a bath. It seems my idiot husband told her she was still small enough to be feasted on by the "drain monster". FML
Today, our daughter threatened to throw us out if her mom asked about having children again. My wife is completely unable to control herself, and lasted a full 30 seconds before trying to restart the baby conversation. We weren’t just thrown out, she soaked us with the hose all the way to our car. FML
Today, I confronted my 18-year-old daughter about her excessively lengthy showers. She said she didn't see the big deal, considering the water "comes free with the house." No dear, it doesn't. FML
Today, I noticed my daughter’s bathroom was dusty, so I screamed at her for keeping the bathroom in unacceptable condition. She had a panic attack and has been crying for the past week. She’s 24. FML
Today, my daughter is still acting out her teenage issues. This morning, when I told her to, "Have a nice day" she screamed at me, "DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!" FML
Today, I walked in on my daughter trying to blow-dry the sweat off her armpits instead of showering. FML
Today, our 16 year-old daughter is still staging a protest because we won’t let her scummy boyfriend move in with us. She’s decided to go on a “bathing strike” until we change our minds. It’s been over 30 days and our house smells like an NFL locker room took a shit in a bus station. FML
Today, my daughter locked herself in the bathroom having a tantrum after her boyfriend dumped her. So, out of sheer desperation, I had to sit in the kitchen sink for a pee, which is when my husband walked in with his mother and sister. FML
Today, my 6-year-old daughter threw a tantrum in the middle of a store, all because I wouldn't buy her a pushup bra. FML

What the hell kind of shower rod do you have? Every one I've seen is hollow metal or plastic and not a great weapon. You can easily fight back with a recently-used plunger. Just get her some Sonic tater tots and she'll calm down.

She’s a kid and is harmless so the best is to sit her down and let her know why it important to bath,she’ll be the one that’d look for time to bath all the time

I kinda relate to your daughter. I was never that bad. But around that age, probably a little younger, I would just not take showers. Like to the point I'd turn the shower on, stand outside of it, and stick my arm in to at least make it sound like I was showering. Meanwhile, everyone knew because I probably had pretty bad body odor lol. I don't know why I was so anti hygiene, but it was a short chapter of my life. Good luck with your daughter tho.

I’m transgender I did this kind of shit because I hated my body. Not saying your daughter is trans but there’s something else going on. Have some compassion.

At 14 this is not a harmless case of throwing a temper tantrum. There have to be consequences - She loses something important to her like a smart phone or computer access or something like that. If you don’t take control of this situation it’s just going to get worse. While she should certainly take showers and do it by herself, it’s not really appropriate at this age to supervise the shower itself. The sniff test will quickly tell you if she showered or not. And if she has money, a job, or an allowance she should pay for replacing the shower rod if it was not reusable. If this was anything but a one time tantrum, she and you are going to need some family counseling. This is totally beyond the realm of normal.
