Today, I ran into my ex-boyfriend who dumped me after 2 1/2 years because I got fat. The last two years I've lost 68 lbs, am happier and couldn't wait to shove that in his face. So, of course the first time he sees me I'm alone, I'm pushing a shopping cart full of ice cream for a party later. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Quite rightly so
Today, after my ex helped me drop over a hundred pounds, I broke up with him because I looked and felt so much better, and knew I could do better. Turns out he was the only thing keeping me slim, as I've put back on over twenty pounds. I asked him to take me back and he told me to fuck off. FML
Rubbing it in
Today, after seven months apart, I agreed to meet with my ex, wondering if he'd changed. He sure did. He lost a ton of weight and picked up several new hobbies. He also picked up a 23 year-old new girlfriend. She's slimmer and prettier than I'll ever be. I threw my drink in his face and left in tears. FML
Self-bodyshaming
Today, I saw my ex-boyfriend walking down the street in my direction. I've put on a bunch of weight since we broke up, so I turned to look in the nearest shop window, hoping he wouldn't notice. Unfortunately he did see me, looking straight at a KFC. FML
Oh, hai Mark!
Today, I ran into my ex-boyfriend on campus. Upset, I decided to go to McDonald's to eat my painful memories away. While in the drive-thru line, I realized my ex was right in front of me. It looked like I'd followed him all the way from campus. He thinks I'm a stalker now. FML
Today, I went out shopping. When I left the store, I saw my ex, who I'm still crazy about. He helped me carry my bags out to the car. When I leaned in to give him a hug goodbye, he stepped aside, and I fell face-first into a puddle. He walked away laughing. FML
Superficial
Today, I was dumped by my boyfriend of 2 years. I'd been involved in an accident that severely hurt my right leg. As a result, I couldn't work out and gained 35 pounds, also due to stress eating and some meds I’m taking. Apparently I’m no longer attractive and he can’t have people thinking he’s a “chubby chaser.” FML
Never felt more lonely
Today, I was in my local supermarket's frozen aisle and I started doing a little dance of joy because my favorite ice cream was on sale. I turned around to see my ex and his new girlfriend watching me. FML
Today, I saw my long-distance boyfriend for the first time in 8 months. He dumped me on the spot because I was "uglier" than he remembered. FML
Today, my girlfriend dumped me because I've recently become serious about getting fit, and have lost nearly 84 pounds. Apparently, when I was fat, I made her look smaller in comparison. When I got slimmer, she insisted I either gain the weight back or she'd leave. So she did. FML
Lifegoals
Today, I saw my ex. I was sure he’d be miserable, but he looked happier than I’ve seen him in a long time. He somehow even looked younger, as did the woman he was on a date with, who’s a good 10 years younger than me. Meanwhile, I’ve gained 25 pounds trying to quit smoking. FML

He'll still have noticed that you're looking foxy nowadays. He's a guy. They don't miss that kinda thing. =]

Man, screw that ****** for dumping you, he should have supported you and been concerned for your health, rather than just dropping you. Great job on losing the weight though! And i'm sure he noticed it too. Have fun at your party!

I agree that he was a jerk for dumping you because you gained weight. But at the same time why do you decide to try hard to lose the weight after he breaks up with you. Even though a good relationship stuff like that doesnt matter, but it is always nice if both people take care of themselves, so you have the love part of the relationship and the physical attraction part. But then again i dont know your relationship and he could of been an a hole and not even supporting you to lose the weight and be healthier.

maybe she wanted to boost her self esteem, maybe she wanted to change her thoughts, keep herself busy... God, you're not the brightest light in the Christmas tree are you?

Who cares? You lost weight, good for you. He's a douche, what good guy dumps someone because they put on some weight? You deserve better, or rather, no one deserves such a shallow guy. And why should you care what he thinks about what is in your cart? I gave this a YDI for caring what someone equally as shallow thinks.

It shouldn't be weight gain that ends a relationship, but at the same time it shouldn't take a breakup to convince someone to lose weight. No matter what anyone says, there's nothing shallow about dumping someone because they've let themselves go. When you're not in a committed relationship, mutual attraction is extremely important and when that fades, the person is left to decide if this is what they want to spend the rest of their life with. No one would be calling a woman a shallow **** for dumping an alcoholic or 24/7 gamer, even if they were all-around nice guys. If they're unwilling to change while in the relationship, then the significant other has every right to get out before a commitment's been made. I also find it nigh impossible to click FYL when you wanted to "throw that in his face." Looks like you were not only fat, but very immature and petty. There were probably multiple reasons he dumped you.

You have got to be kidding me, I am pretty sure that if he didn't dump you, you wouldn't have lost that weight. It serves you right if you think just because you have your "man" that you can let yourself go and get fat, kudos to him for realizing what was happening and getting out of it as fast as possible. hopefully you learned your lesson and the next time you get a boyfriend you wont buy all that ice cream for yourself again

Have you not noticed, that MEN mostly, let themselves go in a commited relationship? After a man gets married, he usually gets fat. Why? Well.... Wifey cooks, he aint only making hot dogs and KD for himself no more... Work gets more stressfull when you have to provide for a family, they indulge in comfort food. If you're telling me that you will be skinny your whole life, well good luck my friend.

They dated 2 1/2 years. It's been two years since they broke up. Of course there was something to shove in his face, he dumped her after 2 1/2 years because of her weight. Sure, looks are important, but he could have suggested they go to the gym together or diet. He didn't have to dump her. That's an asshole thing to do to somebody after 2 1/2 years of being together. Apparently, he didn't really love her enough to stay with her and help her with her weight. Obviously he wasn't in it for the long haul because once you've been with someone for, oh let's say, 50 years, you're both probably a little fatter, saggier, wrinklier, greyer, hairier (except on your head). It would have been worse if OP had stayed with him that long and got dumped then.
