Today, I set 3 alarms so I wouldn't miss an early morning event I was volunteering at. After I slept through the first one, my roommate turned the other two off without waking me up because they were annoying. I missed the event. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Wakey wakey
Today, I went to bed early, feeling responsible. At 2 a.m., I woke up in a panic because I forgot to set my alarm. While fixing it, I actually turned it off completely. I overslept, missed work, and proved once again that I should never trust myself. FML
Today, my roommate set her extremely loud alarm clock for 5am and continued to hit the snooze button every ten minutes until 7:30. FML
Bad start
Today, I was starting a new job that requires me to wake up at 4 am. I set three alarms but was so nervous about sleeping through them that I kept waking up to check the time, which caused me to miss my alarms. Goodbye awesome new job. FML
I'm a mess
Today, I set practically ten alarms because I absolutely could not oversleep for an important appointment. I woke up two hours early, panicked that I'd missed it, and couldn't fall back asleep. I spent the entire appointment looking like I hadn't slept at all. FML
Where are you?
Today, I set a silent alarm on my phone for 6:30 AM so I wouldn’t wake up my partner. Problem is, I forgot to turn off “Do Not Disturb” mode, so my alarm never went off. I woke up at 9:30 AM, still in pajamas, and missed a meeting with a client. I'm avoiding my manager's calls. FML
GET UP
Today, I set an alarm labeled "DO NOT BE LATE." When it went off, I turned it off, congratulated myself for being responsible, and promptly went back to sleep. I woke up two hours later. FML
Consent
Today, I fully intended to start going to the gym so I set my alarm an hour early so I could go before work and get it over with. Alas, when the alarm went off and I saw that horrible "5 a.m." on my phone, my brain put me straight back to sleep without my consent. I ended up being late for work. FML
Today, I set an alarm to wake up for a football match. I woke up after it finished. Turns out, I set my alarm to 12:15 p.m. instead of a.m. I ended up missing one of my team's best performances. FML
Today, I was late to school for the third time this week because my alarm clock didn't go off. I clearly remembered setting it, so I videotaped myself sleeping. It turns out I've been turning off my alarm clock in my sleep. FML
Today, my roommate's extremely loud and obnoxious alarm went off six times, waking me up each time, before she finally gave up on hitting the snooze button and went back to sleep for good. FML

Your roommate is an idiot. Wouldn't a cranky you be a lot more annoying than your alarms? Had they woken you and got you out of the door, they might have had a few hours of peace.

Comment moderated for rule-breaking.
Maybe you should have had more sleep prior and if alarms don't work maybe asking your roommate to wake you would have helped. Next time have a backup plan

Roommate of the year... did the thought that maybe there were three alarms set for a reason not cross his mind? ?

FY roommate's L! That's got to be as annoying AF to have a roommate who has slept through alarms enough times that you set multiple ones. Just because you sleep through them doesn't mean he or she can. Have enough consideration to come up with a way of getting yourself up that doesn't ruin your roommate's sleep!

OP's alarm setting habits doesn't justify the roommate sabotaging their alarms and making them miss an event. For all they could have know, they could have been going to the doctor for treatment for a major illness and they could have essentially signed OP's death warrant by doing so. If they REALLY wanted the alarms off, they could have woken OP up, given that they were presumably within feet of them while turning off he alarms. At that point, the roommate was just being passive-aggressive instead of behaving like and adult as discussing the matter and alternative solutions with OP. Since that's, you know, a huge reason why people are encouraged to live in a dorm at least once- it encourages them to be Actual Adults™ instead of acting like a spoiled bratty preteen throwing a tantrum.

I think comparing turning an alarm off to literally murder is a bit dramatic, what do you think?

Is it possible you slept through the roommate's attempt to wake you up as well?

Dormmates? Bunkbeds? Or did he enter your room? I had a dormmate in college and they slept thru all their alarms. So did I. We had a system. You should get a system. Hope your roommate improves or moves out, or moves on past childish acts.
