Today, I'm a barista at Starbucks. When my crush walked in and asked how much his coffee would cost, I said a date. He said he'd rather pay for the coffee. FML

The date from hell #5676
Today, I went on an a date with a guy I met online. We were waiting in line at Starbucks when he turned to me and said, "Do you want anything?" Just before I was about to answer, he practically shoved in front of me and paid for himself. The cashier looked more horrified than I did. FML
Today, I worked up the courage to ask my crush out for coffee after work. She agreed and I confidently said, "Alright, it's a date!" She replied, "Haha, a date with you? I'm just going for the free coffee!" FML
Today, I was getting coffee with my aunt, and she asked me to pay. She then turned to the Barista and said, "He's never had a girlfriend before, and I wanted to show him that they take your money." The Barista laughed so hard she had to excuse herself. FML
Fight or flight
Today, I went to my favorite coffee shop, ordered my usual, smiled at the barista I have a crush on, and confidently said, "You too!" when they told me to enjoy my drink. I have to find a new coffee shop. FML
Today, I emailed the guy I like to ask him on a coffee date. He responded, declining by telling me he never drinks coffee. We met at Starbucks. FML
Smooth
Today, I tried to flirt with the cute barista by pretending to know a lot about coffee. I said, “I’ll take a macchiato, extra creamy.” He smiled and said, “That’s… not a thing.” I panicked and said, “Neither is my love life.” FML
Misunderstood
Today, I went out for coffee with my sister and my crush. I spent the majority of the date flirting with my crush, and when he dropped us off at home, I told him I had fun on our date. He looked at me surprised and said he'd thought I'd tagged along on his date with my sister. FML
Smooth
Today, I went on a coffee date with the man I've been in love with for a while. Before I knew what was going on, he'd started chatting up a pretty girl sitting nearby. I had to drink my coffee alone while he got her number. FML
Masterful gambit
Today, a cute guy asked me out for coffee. I like him but didn't want it to be easy, so I said, "Coffee dates are for broke bums, aim a little higher." He said, "Aight I will, peace out" and walked off. FML
Today, I went with my dad to Starbucks. There is this really cute guy who works there and he kept looking over at me, so I went over to say hi. He ended up asking if my dad was single. FML

Good on him for being straightforward and (it sounds like) not rude about it. Good on you for having the confidence to ask him.

OP's boss should give them a stern talking to about sexually harrassing customers. And yes, employees propositioning people by offering to steal for them is creepy AF. Yes, giving away company product is stealing.

You sound like you're even more fun at parties than I am. Can you cite the part of state and/or federal law relating to the sexual harassment, and the page of the employee handbook?

Work isn't a place to find hook ups, it's for work. Glad you don't work for me, I'd hate to waste time fighting your unemployment claim.

Yeah, because you know anything about me. My point is that you both sound freaking awesome from your boring comments.

Starbucks is not your company OP. You charge the dollar amount for the product.

all these comments saying how hes a dick, he didnt want to go on a date with you deal with it, he just wanted coffee

He's probably either taken, or not into you. Don't take it personally. Attraction is mostly chemicals. Either you like or don't like a person.

Spit in his coffee OP!;)

yes. Spit in somebody's drink because they just wanted coffee and didn't want to go on a date with someone. There's nothing wrong with that. In case you can't tell, I'm being sarcastic

Wouldn't coffee be less expensive than a date? No ones putting the possibility he may have been in a relationship. But Honestly if you like them and they're single, ask a different way or time.
