Today, I learned that the hardest part of marrying a historian is choosing baby names. His top choices derive from two Roman magistrates, two abbesses, a tenth-century author, and an obscure Greek official. I already let him name our pug, for whom he chose the name "Tertullianus." FML

Turtle-y anus?

Far out baby names, might wanna dial it down about 50% and come up with a something more acceptable and serious, like Tiberius

Let him choose the name

Nothing like naming your dog after a sexually repressed Carthaginian Christian laymen...

Puga are way cuter than babies, but that aside; I think you should let the exotic name happen, but only if it's easy to spell and doesn't sound like fodder for future name calling.

Just tell him...it's your child too, so you get naming rights this time, since he named the dog. (Just don't have any more kids if you can help it...this situation doesn't look good for that)

what you call the dog Tert? right dog names should be one syllable

Thats an awesome dog name...But baby names, he may need to tone it down for.

Calligula-Cesare-Brutus, come and give mummy a kiss!

Don't forget to name the zazzy one Zazzles

Hahaha this is weirdly similar to my situation (except I'm the historian - well, Classicist). Came to the realisation that nobody will ever let me name our child something Classics-related, so I'm planning on having a pug named Hector to fill the gap.

Tell him if the kid ends up with a name like turtley anus he's gonna have a VERY hard time making friends.
