Today, I just got my windshield fixed due to a rock hitting it off the highway. Just one hour later on my way home, a large stick flew off the back of a landscaping truck. My windshield is cracked again. FML.
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Keep on trucking
Today, for the second time this week, a jerk in a big truck let a big rock fly out of their uncovered back and damaged my windshield. Both times the cops refused to do anything and I can't afford to fix it as I was demoted at work. FML
Someone doesn't like you much
Today, after work, I found my car in the middle of the empty parking lot with a huge crack in the windshield that wasn't there in the morning. Looks like I have to get the windshield replaced. Again. For the fourth time now. FML
Today, I was driving home on the highway with my wife and her parents. As I overtook another car, a rock got kicked up into our windshield. My wife screamed about the crack it created, while my mother-in-law goaded her on and mocked my "piss-poor driving." FML
Act of god
Today, I purchased a new car. On the drive home, gusts of wind blew up debris and pebbles and caused little chips in the paint and small chips on the windshield. FML
Today, while driving home from work, I heard a loud crash immediately followed by the sound of wind and shifting glass over my head. My sunroof exploded for no perceptible reason 5 days before Christmas. FML
Emergency
Today, while I was working replacing a windshield, some jerk off hit my truck. A truck carrying 2k in glass, including the windshield I was about to install. The driver gets out and says, "Sorry man, I had to text my girlfriend." FML
Throw the bill at the kid. Do it.
Today, I was really excited that I'd made it the two weeks I'd borrowed my mother-in-law's new car without putting a scratch on it. I got off work to discover a customer's child throwing rocks in the parking lot. They cracked the windshield. FML
Windshield blues
Today I noticed a large crack in my windscreen. Two weeks after getting it replaced. The warranty doesn't cover cracks. Several attempts were needed to replace it last time for reasons like losing the new windscreen and telling me they couldn't make it that day and turned up any way after I'd gone out. FML
Driving school dropout
Today, as I was pulling into my driveway, I hit my fence. The same fence that I had repaired last week because I had run into it. FML
Today, I was mowing my yard when I hit a small rock, which hit my shed. I got done mowing and realized that it wasn't a small rock, it was my son's toy plyers and it wasn't my shed, it was my car window, which had shattered on impact. FML

I hope you have some sort of insurance or warranty for that.

Hopefully you have good insurance... In the meantime, maybe don't make a habit of driving behind trucks?

Stop driving behind trucks. That's no way to drive.

By all means everyone stop driving behind trucks so only the trucks are left. Trucks are only one of the many hazards one encounters whilst driving, to become a proficient driver one must deal with all the hazards. In many instances it is unavoidable not to be stuck behind a truck of some sort. Also he may not have been traveling too close to the truck and just unlucky. To try and swerve out of the way is not necessarily a good idea as the speed may make that a more dangerous option not to mention the danger to other motorists from swerving cars. Sometimes in these situations it is the safest not to do anything and hope for the best. Same goes for animals wandering on the road it may be the safest option to hit them. One can only assess the situation as it arises.

If you were tailgating then YDI. If not then why couldn't you avoid the large stick?

Perhaps it was too large to avoid?

The wind will usually pick it up, and you can't just swerve out or your lane on the highway!

This would make a good State Farm add. Yep, covered it both times.

You should go back to the place where you got it fixed and tell them what happened.. Maybe they'll show a little sympathy and either replace it for free or give a discount?(:

a windshield cannot be replaced till approx 2 weeks after installation so the sealant can dry.

It's a totally unrelated business, it's not their fault OP is just unlucky. I highly doubt they'd do it for free.

At least you're keeping the repair/replacement shop in business!! Sorry though OP, hope insurance covers it or the place you go to for repairs helps you out.

If it flew off the back of a truck the owner is responsible for the damage. Also, you were probably following to close. Back off.

I've got no clue why your comment is being disliked, It is the owner of the trucks fault for not having everything properly secured. I belive it's called wreckless endangerment or something along those lines and if it's a commercial truck the buisness that owns it needs to hold the driver accountable for it.

Sticks and stones may break my windshield but words will never hurt me....OP
