Today, I hadn't been out in two weeks, and I was looking forward to going to the beach with my friends. Instead, I rear-ended someone at a roundabout and had to go home. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I was driving in stop and go traffic and passed two accidents in the process. I got nervous and decided to change routes to avoid getting hit. As I was trying to find an alternative route on my GPS, I rear-ended the car in front of me. FML
Today, while driving, I got a call on my cell phone. Trying to be safe and avoid an accident, I pulled into the nearest parking lot before answering. While I was turning in to park, someone rear-ended me. FML
Today, I was feeling super nervous about driving because I had my first accident the day before. As I stopped at a red light, I got rear-ended. FML
Today, I drove my husband's car to the mall because my car was in the shop. The bumper was being repaired because I got rear ended while stopped at a traffic light. While stopped at the same intersection I got rear ended again. FML
Today, I thought I'd be safe by looking before crossing a one way street unlike I normally do. Too bad I looked the wrong way and didn't see the car that hit me. FML
Today, I came back from a 700-mile round trip. I hit a massive pothole I couldn't avoid and blew out a tire and bent my rim. I was less than a mile from my house. FML
Today, I was in a car accident. After screaming at the woman for running into me, I got in my car and drove off. As I was driving away, I was staring her down when I ended up rear-ending the person in front of me. FML
Today, I rear-ended a car while I was texting about the accident ahead which was causing all the traffic. FML
Today, I was riding my bike down a road I know is quite hazardous. Having almost been hit in the same spot the day before, I rode across the intersection very satisfied without having been injured. Until I crashed into the guy front of me and flipped over my handlebars. FML
Today, after failing my learner's licence twice in the previous weeks, I finally passed. As I got home, I went for a drive with my dad. I smashed my mum's car into an old lady's fence and ended up in her backyard. FML

not true. I had an incident where a van slammed on the brakes on a busy road nowhere near a turnoff or intersection with no tail lights. I only just hit her (flexed fiberglass but that's it.) unfortunately I was rear ended. but the van was ruled at fault. he was trying to get into An accident I'm pretty sure. because all of his lights were broken inside the housings.

Yours was a rare exception. In general most of those accidents are the fault of the person who did the rear ending. The only exception is when proper warning is not given for stopping or there is sudden stopping for no reason.

If the person's car is unfit for the road (i.e. no brake lights as above) then it would be their fault. But if you rear-end someone it's because you were too close to them. You should always leave at least a 2 second gap and double if wet. So if they stop suddenly you should be able to stop without rear-ending them.

She stopped, I thought she'd slowed down. $2200 later, I wish I had been paying slightly more attention. Interestingly enough, the lady was hit by a car today as she walked to her car after work. So I guess I'm ahead?

Well that sucks, but YDI because you should be watching where you're going. While driving, your mind should only be on driving. And rear-ending someone is always your fault.
