Today, I had my first job as a wedding planner. I'd spent a year making sure everything was right. After the wedding my friend comforted me by saying, "You had to have known it wasn't going to be perfect." I knew that it wouldn't be perfect, but I had expected the groom to at least show up. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, it was my wedding day. Everything went great, except that no one showed up. Apparently, the address of the invitation was typed wrong. FML
Control freak
Today, after over a month of planning, my friend had to cancel her first night out in over a year. Why? Because her "perfect" fiancé didn't want to, and started sulking when she tried to, so decided to put off letting her go out for a few more months. Apparently, it's my fault this happens. FML
Today, it was my wedding. Everyone showed up… except my fiancé. FML
Surprise!
Today, after I spent months assisting my 'work bestie' with planning/arranging her "Surprise!" wedding, Surprise! I wasn't invited. FML
Today, I congratulated a bride standing in front of a church in a white dress. Turns out she'd been stood up at the altar. She thrashed me with her bouquet. FML
Today, I had to sit through the wedding of my best friend and the love of my life, and pretend to be happy for them. FML
Where were you?
Today, I showed up to my mate's wedding. There was a board for someone's 100th birthday instead. I screwed up the dates and the wedding was yesterday. FML
Today, it was my wedding day. I gave a speech about the first time my wife and I met. I said I knew she was the perfect woman for me and it was love at first sight. I looked to my right as she stormed off and then realized I had told a story about my ex-girlfriend who was sitting in the crowd. FML
Wait, what?
Today, I was invited to a friend's wedding. When I got there, I was surprised to see that it was a surprise wedding, meaning I wasn’t invited at all. I stood there awkwardly for an hour, until the bride's mother finally noticed me and whispered, "You're not on the guest list, are you?" FML
Another speech bites the dust
Today, I gave a speech at my friend’s wedding. I spent weeks perfecting it, making sure it was funny but heartfelt. When I finished, I dropped the mic dramatically. It bounced off the table, hit the best man in the face, and the cable knocked his drink all over the bride’s dress. FML

Surely that's not your fault. And if a groom leaves his bride at the altar in front of everyone, instead of honestly discussing things face to face - who would want to be married to a man like that anyway?

You can't predict the groom not showing. Not your fault so not FML to you but to the bride.

Funny how the Bride was the jilted one, and the planner is upset.

Not your fault, unless-- the groom didn't show up because he fell in love with the "Wedding Planner"? Sounds like that Jennifer Lopez movie. (I only eat the brown M&M's) Lol Hopefully you still got paid for your year's work.

I remember a news story about 15 years ago where a guy had a ball and chain put on him for his stag night. He got drunk and separated from his friends. He fell in a lake. :/

C'mon OP, as a wedding planner, you should have anticipated everything and had a spare groom and bride ready to step in, just in case of cold feet, illness, death, etc. The show must go on OP no matter what!!! YDI for not being God-like enough to see the future and prepare for it.
