Today, I had an appointment with a psychotherapist. I was feeling very depressed and was telling her how I felt no one cared about me. Her phone rang and she left me mid-sentence to take a call about her new BMW. FML

Today, I made an appointment with a therapist because lately I've been feeling alone and like no one cares about me. I waited at her office for about forty minutes before the receptionist informed me that she must have forgotten about the appointment. Even my therapist stands me up. FML
Today, I went to therapy. I started talking about my childhood and my life. By the time the session was over my therapist was crying. FML
Today, my girlfriend left me, saying she'd started to appreciate herself more with the help of a therapist. That I paid for her to visit. FML
Today, a therapist told me that I was too depressed to attend his depression group meetings. FML
Today, I realized it's been over a month since my last therapy session. My therapist canceled on me and never got back in touch to reschedule. FML
Today, my psychiatrist of 6 years suddenly and out of nowhere told me I need to see someone else. She gave me the equivalent of the "it's not you, it's me" speech. Actually her assistant told me via email. I basically got broken up with by someone I was paying a lot of money to talk to. FML
Today, I tried therapy to talk about my problems without feeling like i am harassing anyone. After messaging a therapist for over 2 hours, I felt way better and finally understood. It turned out I'm in such a bad mental state that I'm a danger to myself and others. Police were called by the therapist. FML
Today, after breaking down in front of my therapist over some really sensitive issues, she decided to also break down. Not about my story but about her own life. I'm not being paid to comfort and console my therapist. FML
Today, I reduced my psychologist to tears. FML
Today, I finally convinced my mum to take me to a psychologist. As soon as he sat me down and asked me how I was doing, my mum burst into tears and went on a rant about how her life is terrible and she regrets everything. I was asked to sit in the waiting room. She used up my whole hour. FML

Totally out of line. Her phone should be off during a session. I'd let her know that you would appreciate her full attention during sessions, as you're paying a lot of money for it.

If that is what happened, I would report her because that is highly unprofessional and uncalled for. I am sorry to hear that that happened to you. Depression sucks and is bad enough to go through. You don't need someone that you are paying to help you act so rudely and poorly to you.

Um, are you serious? You realize that a good deal of people with degrees in psychology are self-employed, right? Why would you assume there's a global set of rules that every psychotherapist has to follow? Even if they did, would it be so hard to believe that someone broke them? You are a moron. I hate people like you who call out fake on every FML without any real cause.

Not true. My mom's a psychologist and she's on call 24/7, so she has to answer her business phone because she might have to hospitalize a patient. She's also answered her personal phone when I've called (though I wish she wouldn't because I don't usually have anything important enough to say).

Seriously? You think therapists run around without any rules to follow? Not only are there laws that govern how therapists work, but a code of ethics that people need to follow if they want to keep their license and certification. Ever heard of the American Psychological Association? (I am sure other countries have their own versions). The first thing we learn is ethics and law. Then they teach us how to do therapy.

The only reason the therapist was listening to the OP in the first place is that she was being paid to. It's not clear if the therapist knew what the call was about when she took it. She could have been worried about another client who had a problem more serious than just feeling sorry for herself.
