Today, I had a morning shift at the restaurant and didn't feel like wearing makeup. I was energetic and greeted everyone happily, but my manager told me I looked tired. I said, "Oh no I'm just not wearing makeup!" He said, "Well, you might need it." FML

Today, I went into work for the first time without make-up. My boss thought I looked so tired and ill that he sent me home. FML

Today, all of my friends and teachers asked me what was wrong because I looked sad and tired. One kid even said that I looked like "an abused housewife the day after." I was fine. It was the first time I went to school without wearing any makeup. FML
Today, I told a coworker, “You look way better without makeup.” She responded, “I’m wearing makeup.” Everyone around us gasped like I had just said "fuck" in church. FML
Today, I decided to go all-natural and go to work without any makeup on. My boss swore I was on drugs, which I guess had absolutely nothing to do with the completely "random" drug test I had to take later in the day. FML
Today, I was written up at work and sent home 20 minutes into my shift. My boss thought I was under the influence of something, but it’s really just the first time I’ve come to work with no makeup on. FML
Today, I was fixing my makeup in the back room of the office when my boss walked in. He looked kind of annoyed so I jokingly said, "Don't you want your secretary to look good?" He said, "If I did, I wouldn't have hired you." FML
Today, I was yelled at by multiple people at work for not wearing any makeup. The only reason I don’t wear makeup is because my mom is guaranteed to make me cry before I leave the house every morning, so there’s no point. FML

That was rude, but I think you should take his advice... and go one step further by turning up to work looking like Pennywise. If he calls you out, remind him it was his idea, but he didn't say how far you needed to take it, so you hedged your bets.

If he's only ever seen you with makeup on, I can't really blame him for thinking you look tired. Many people have naturally dark shadows under their eyes. You don't really notice it on people who don't wear makeup since it's how they naturally look. But if your "standard" look is where you wear makeup, the shadows under your eyes don't look normal on your face.

Lol, this has happened to me too!! Only I got written up! I work in a professional office and they told me they “hired me to look a certain way” and even so, not wearing makeup is unprofessional. Sounds like the sisters of world need to unite 👍
