Today, I got my posting orders for the Air Force. After spending four years training and studying to become an aerospace engineer, I am getting sent to the only base without aircraft. FML

Today, after moving 1,400 miles across the country, quitting my full-time job, and selling most of my furniture to attend flight school, I got a call a month before my start date saying that they are closing my location. FML
Today, while all the other marines got to fly around the island on a helicopter, I got stuck on gear guard. What was I guarding? The staff sergeant's parking spot. FML
Today, to add to the pointlessness of my existence, not only have I been rejected from the Army, the Air Force, and the Navy, I received a rejection notice from the Army Reserves. FML
Today, in my college class, our teacher asked us what we wanted to do when we get out of college. I guess being a U.S. Marine gets you a lecture for the whole class to hear that I'm a war hungry pig, and should get a real job that requires a brain. My job field is Aircraft repair. FML
Today, I told my girlfriend that one of my intellectually challenged friends now holds an engineering position at an aircraft company. She wasn't a fan of flying before, and now refuses to set foot anywhere near any aircraft of any kind. FML
Today, I caught a flight to see my boyfriend, who is stationed in the army 300 miles away. When I was just 15 minutes from the base he called to say that we should break up. Now I'm heading back to California, single and broke. FML
Today, I finally get to go home after a 16 day training event in Colorado. The plane has been sitting in the runway for over three hours due to lightning storms and we're not allowed to leave. We've spent more time on the ground waiting than the flight itself would take. FML
Today, I found out I didn't get the promotion I applied for. Then I was told I was the only one who applied for the job. FML
Today, I'm seven months into a twelve month deployment. I called my fiancée, and she dumped me. The worst part is that two days ago, I re-enlisted to go to a unit an hour away from her house. FML
Today, I found out that instead of being stationed in Afghanistan, my husband of 9 years has been "stationed" at his other girlfriend's house. FML

Actually HighStakes, this sort of thing happens literally all the time in the US military. If you tell anyone "this is where I want to go after training" you 100% guaranteed will not get sent or transferred there. You have to figure out how to get where you want on your own. That's how you learn to play the game right away.

I second this. If you're sent to a base that already has all the aircraft it needs, then all you'll be doing is fixing someone else's crap. If you're sent to one without, it's gotta mean you're going to be building something all new, right?

No, of course not. If you want to build aircraft, you go get a job at Boeing or Lockheed. If you want to repair Aircraft onsite, you join the Air Force. If you are sent to a base without Aircraft, your job will suck until some planes show up.

Check that they didn't mess the paperwork up? Also, whatever they have you doing, it should get you some form of connections and experience, which should help in the meantime. Though I can understand it's irritating.

Cinn is nothing like Snickerdoodles. Although I quite often agreed with what Snickers said, she did have a tendency to get crazy argumentative, especially with the trolls. It's extremely rare for Cinn to say something I disagree with, and her arguments are always logical, well thought out and polite.

to 95- actually I only spend about 15 minutes a day from my iPod and I get a lot done. wouldn't be supprised if cinn spent less time or just went on at random times of the day.

Underaegis is right, I tend to come on at random times of the day whilst I'm waiting for my computer to load stuff and the like.
