Today, I found out the name on my driver's license is incorrect. I don't know what's worse: the fact the government can't even copy a goddamn name correctly, or that it took me three months to notice, when a cop nearly arrested me for carrying a "fake" license. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was pulled over for speeding. When the police officer approached me and asked for license and registration, I accidentally gave him my fake I.D. FML
Classic
Today, I got pulled over for going a few miles per hour over the speed limit. The cop asked for my license and registration. I happened to look down at my wallet while he was processing everything and saw my license in my wallet. I gave the cop my fake I.D. FML
Red tape
Today, the DMV told me I had to pay a $39 "renewal" fee for a mistake they made. After over an hour of waiting, they printed a license without a Real ID star like my previous one. Then they tried to blame me for not asking for one. I didn't have time to resolve this two weeks ago, and now Pennsylvania says it's my fault. FML
DMV blues
Today, I finally went to the DMV to replace my lost license. After waiting for almost two hours, I casually rummaged through my purse. Something strange inside the lining caught my eye. It was my license. FML
Checked out
Today, I finally got my ass into gear and went to the DMV to renew my driver's license. I waited in line for over two hours, only to find out that I had brought my library card instead of my license. FML
My name is actually Blurt
Today, I saw my original birth certificate and realised I’ve spent almost all my life misspelling my first name. Now I’m worried it might invalidate pretty much every legal document I’ve ever signed. FML
Brain fart
Today, of the two IDs I possess, I handed the cop that pulled me over the fake one. FML
Let him cook
Today, I realized that I've been using the wrong name for a coworker for the past 6 months. I just found out their real name when I saw their name tag. FML
DMV blues
Today, I went to the DMV to renew my license. When I gave the woman behind the desk my name and social security number she looked confused. She then called over her manager, who did the same thing. Getting nervous, I asked what was wrong. Apparently, according to the state of Illinois, I'm dead. FML
Today, after 3 months of job hunting, I finally got a job. But now my birth certificate and social security card are somehow lost, and I can't start until I let them see a copy. FML

Good coverup. Go to social media. They'll never suspect you of being a double agent.

My name is simple but everywhere I go, if I'm placing an order, or at school my name is spelled incorrectly. Sorry OP hopefully they replace your license for free.

There's many reasons why the Government sucks ?

Yes- apparently one person screwing up a name is the reason the entire government sucks.

Right?!?! Thanks Obama.

I really doubt the government itself is at fault here. blame the government worker.

the person is from Canada. Obama has no reign over there.

Harper. Not Obama.

Lies. Canada is perfect. It's what we Americans tell ourselves when we start to lose faith in humanity.

Close call.. at least you weren't mid-sneeze in the picture!!

Honestly I don't think OP cares about what their picture looks like. OP was worried about getting arrested for having a messed up name on their license.

Why the hell am I downvoted?

DanCastellaneta 17
Yeah, I guess "nearly arrested" isn't clear enough... *sigh*

Well, 'nearly' is obviously a very ambiguous word. I mean, who really knows what that means?

At least you didn't actually get arrested.

Can't tell if you meant illuminate'd, as in some obscure form of an "illuminate joke", or eliminated.

I agree, fake your life : )

If it makes you feel any better, it wasn't until this past year that I figured out the date of my actual birthday.
feven 32
Even the date on my FML profile is wrong by one day :o
44LynnLynn 23
How did that happen?
feven 32
I was born in another country so the time difference wasn't accounted for when they documented my birth date. So I was technically born on New Years :)
False_Stupidity 42
At least you can change it on your FML profile!
Catdragon 40
at least you got your license.
