Today, I found out my no-work-experience brother has just accepted a 50k/year job. He is still in school and has never had a job. I work as an intern for 11 hours a day, get rude emails from my boss, and have 3 degrees and 5 years work experience. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Skill issue or…?
Today, my sister started a full-time job with a good pay despite having no prior work experience and being a college freshman. Meanwhile, I've graduated with two degrees, have been working two jobs for the last five years, and still can't get a full-time position anywhere. FML
Nepo baby
Today, after weeks of my brother being laid off from work, I was able to finagle him an interview for one of the entry level positions at my work. He got the job, only to refuse it because it doesn't pay enough. I thought 9 dollars an hour was a lot more than 0 dollars an hour. FML
Stay in school, kids
Today, my sister and I were talking about our salaries. She just graduated from university and will start working soon. It turns out that she'll earn more money than me. I have been working for 4 years. However, my earnings are still less than those of a worker with no experience. FML
Today, I got fired from my job. My boss is my brother. His reason being that, "it would create awkward tension between us." I've been working for him for 5 years, and it's like he's only just realised that I was there. FML
Today, it's been months since I graduated university. I still haven't managed to land a single interview. Meanwhile my brother recently woke up from a week long bender, realized he had no money for weed, went out, and 4 days later landed a well paid sales job 15 minutes from home. FML
Today, my younger brother, who still lives in our parents' basement and has never held a job in his life, announced that his girlfriend is pregnant with their third child. I'm a college graduate living on my own and I've never even had sex. FML
Today, I got called for a job that I applied to 2 months ago, just to ask me if I had an older brother that could work for them. FML
Today, I was let go from my internship for "not putting in enough effort". I was working 50 hours a week for almost zero pay. FML
Denied
Today, I was rejected for an internship due to a "lack of experience." I have both an MA and a BA from a highly prestigious school and years of work experience. My would-be superior: a 24 year-old without a graduate degree and only one year of work experience. She wore jeans to the interview. FML
Today, my brother called me, asking if I could help him do his taxes. Since he's a high school and college dropout, I thought all I had to do was a 1040EZ. No, last year he made more than twice what I earn, through self-employment. I have two Master's degrees and work at Burger King. FML

Put down the hater-ade you're sipping and look for a better job. If your internship will lead to the job of your dreams, stop worrying about what others have. A lot of people have it better than you but it shouldn't affect your life. He didn't force you into your situation nor is he preventing you from changing it.

ydi for having arts "degrees"
at0micmin3r 23
Without arts, #6. There would be no vibrancy in this world. But it's okay, seeing as how you're probably still living at home with Mommy, with no job, and no education.

lol. #9 win!!! and #6 are you married to family guy? or just Peter griffin? you seem to copy everything about the show...

#9 I bet that's what your long haired alcoholic professor tells you isn't it? and actually I'm majoring in marketing and banking and finance. #15 me and lois are just friends with benefits

@TheRealFamilyGuy: I have an arts degree-theatre tech, in fact. I got work in my field right away, and got a "real job" teaching soon afterwards. That job allowed me to use my degree in a creative way, and gave me time to use it in a more traditional way in outside contracts. That degree has now allowed me to get into one of the more prestigious education graduate programs in the country, as I decided I didn't want to work in professional theatre anymore. Don't knock an arts degree; knock the people who don't know how to use them!

where does it say he has arts degrees? it just says he has 3 degrees
Thin_Ice_fml 0
41 he's implying that those 3 degrees are art degrees because he believes that art is pointless, which is wrong. Read more book 41.

See Meg things always work out if you just do whatever you want without thinking about the consequences.

Everyone believes in luck. How else do we explain the success of those we dont like? :) At least you can say you worked for what you have. People who work for things generally care more about the outcomes that come from it.

Or maybe his brother knows how to network

It's obvious that you did not plan well if you have 3 degrees that don't help you get a job. I gotta wonder what the degrees are in: art history?

Liberal arts lol OP probably has a bad attitude and is boring. Get a better personality and then maybe you too can make the big bucks!

Exactly! Stop being jalous and look for à better job. And change your beliefs. If u stay in such a job u think u deserve to be treated like that...the question is why??? So be sure you can get a better job where u will be properly treated and go get it !!! Life can be good to you

I make more money then most of the people I know and I'm a college drop out. university is just a nice thing to see on a resume now a days.

That's a pretty naive thing to say. Sure there are ways to bypass school and do well, but that's not going to work for everyone. Not everyone can create something like Facebook and make millions. Also you won't get very far in certain fields without being well educated in it, for example physics or chemistry.

You make a valid point but now days school is becoming second option for kids, as I am one myself I went to a diffrent school every couple of months till I eventually left in year 11. I'm now 18 and running a successful business whilst studying to get my degrees up for my resume. There is no reason you can't do both.
stewpididiot 11
what's this...... 0 AA BA MA give up....3 degrees below zero !!!!!!
mfelax9556 8
so how much money do u make a year?
valalvax 13
the fact he mentions its an internship leads me to think it's unpaid
Matt_192 6
not necessarily... most are unpaid, but some do pay a small amount.
CodingSquirrel 3
And others pay relatively well. My last three internships paid decently more than my friends were making at their hourly jobs.

I bet you he is a skateboarder
