Today, I found out less than three weeks before my wedding that my fiancé will lose his new, great paying job, unless we cancel our nonrefundable honeymoon. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I found out that I have to reschedule my upcoming honeymoon because my office will be understaffed that week, due to the boss going on vacation right after my wedding. Oh, yeah, and he's in my bridal party. FML
Today, I found out that my fiancé's parents are refusing to pay for a honeymoon, because they "didn't have one, so neither will we", meaning they won't pay for a single thing for our wedding. FML
Today, I found my fiancé is cheating on me. Our wedding is in 26 days and everything is already paid for. FML
Today, I found out that my fiancé is going to be deployed on our wedding day. FML
Shelve your plans
Today, I discovered that my fiancé had responded to an online missed connection posting. He has been emailing, exchanging pictures and making plans to go out with this girl. We are supposed to be married in the fall and just put down the non-refundable deposit on our reception site. FML
Event canceled
Today, I had to cancel my $15,000 wedding and send a mass e-mail to 90 guests that there won’t be a wedding. My now-ex fiance got fired from his job. Normally this wouldn’t be an issue, if it wasn’t for the fact he got his colleague pregnant. FML
Decisions, decisions
Today, my marriage is one week away. Despite all the challenges we faced during COVID, we powered through everything. Today is also the day my work decided to tell me they're letting me go. I now have to either go on my improvised honeymoon or job hunt. FML
Today, I was told by one of my bridesmaids that she can't afford the travel costs to get to my wedding, after telling me that she didn't need me to organize alternate free travel for her. I'm getting married in less than two weeks. FML
Today, my company let me go after 3 months. A day before my wedding and with zero advance notice. FML
Today, my fiancée decided to go on a "vacation." Our wedding is tomorrow. FML

Well, OP, which will be most benefitial in the long run? It sucks that it's non-refundable and all, but you might be able to persuade them to change the dates or something.

don't be sad. just postpone the trip. either way, it feels the same to have sex at home than in Hawaii.

and thats why you do that AFTER you get married

Sounds vexing. Whichever choice you make, it will bring nothing but misery. I'm sure you know that already. I'm only re-enforcing it. It's just like every other choice you will ever make; each path leads to desolation and despair. You might as well flip a coin. Be careful not to lose the coin when you flip it though; when your husband gets fired, you will need all the currency you can get. Life. Don't talk to me about life.

well if you cancel the honeymoon he still has the great paying job that can afford another honeymoon later on :)

38--- but of course to OP it wouldnt be the same

well cancel and reschedule it sucks, but would you rather have a honeymoon and an unemployed husband or not have a honeymoon but have an employed husband. it's an easy choice especially if it's a well paying job

77 got the idea. enjoy the vacation. do the honeymoon another time. in this economy good paying jobs are hard to come by

Try to sell the tickets and stuff at a discount price so you can at least regain some of what you paid. That really blows tho
Schizomaniac 24
Looks like you're giving that honeymoon up, sucka! No expensive, romantic sex for you!

Op is grossed out by seamen. So they had to cancel the cruise. Seamen.

beneficial?
timma90 4
Efficient and beneficial, because it works.

was that a fight club reference in the rules? cool if it was
timma90 4
Of course not, they only have one rule and that is "Never talk about fight club" but you made me talk about it so I'm dead. :(
Cinn_fml 23
j5p332 - benefitial as in which of the options will do most for the OP and her finacé in the long run. And yes, lthomps, it was a reference. And actually, timma, they have two rules. :P
lionandthelamb61 9
Agreed. Unless the OP's husband will be making less than the honeymoon costs, cancel the trip and reschedule for a more convenient time. In the meantime, plan a romantic "staycation" somewhere nearby. Sex is sex, pretty much anywhere you have it.

This makes no sense.
wwerulez14 6
Yes it does. OP's fiancé has a well-paying job that he's going to get fired from if they go on their non-refundable honeymoon. So they have to choose whether to go on the honeymoon and have her fiancé lose his job, or cancel (or postpone) the honeymoon so he can keep his job. What's not to get?....
Cinn_fml 23
Which bit makes no sense? There is a reason at the fiancé's job that he can't take that holiday without being fired. It might seem odd, but there are some things. Especially when it's a new job and they want proof of reliability or something. Edit - wwerulez, you beat me to it.

You kinda deserve it. Why would you take time off if its a NEW job? You should wait a while before you leave for any amount of time
ParisMilton93 15
Maybe their honeymoon had been booked before her fiancé got his new job?
