Today, I came home from work to find my grandmother in my living room, demanding to know where I'd been all day. I'm 22 and live by myself. She stole my mother's emergency key to get in. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my grandma calls me, accusing me of theft. I was home all day and watching Orange Is The New Black. When I asked what I stole, she said her car keys. I don’t even have my license. I told her to look in her purse. She found them. FML
Call the police!
Today, I came home after a long day at work to find the furniture in my living room had been rearranged by my mother-in-law. When asked how she got in, she told us she stole my husband's key and made herself a copy. She can now come here whenever she wants, unless I change the locks. FML
WTF mom?
Today, I came home at 1 am to find my mom sitting on my couch, ranting about how I'm not supposed to stay up this late. I'm 26 and I don't know how she got into my house. FML
Today, I went to pay my grandma a visit. She called the cops because she didn't recognize me and thought I was a robber. FML
Shackled
Today, I went over to confront my parents about how my siblings always get to visit and all I do when I’m over is work on their house or take care of grandma. My mom was very upset. Then she snuck out with my sister, leaving me to take care of grandma until she got back. FML
Shitshow
Today, I got a call from my grandmother saying she locked her keys in the car and I needed to bring her the spares. After an hour bus ride, involving me missing my stop and getting temporarily lost, I arrived and handed her the keys. I brought the wrong ones. FML
Today, I enjoyed a lovely family dinner, but my irritating grandma kept trying to buy my purse off me, and kept picking it up to look at it. When I got home I realized all my cash and cigarettes were gone. FML
Who are you?
Today, being the nice grandchild that I am, I went to visit my grandmother. She didn't recognise who I was. I thought she was joking. She later called the police as, "Some weirdo had walked into her house." I'm that weirdo; she wasn't joking. FML
Never? NEVER?!
Today, I had a fight with my grandma again with whom I've been living for four years due to college hostel being below par. She blamed me for destroying her kitchen equipment by extensively cooking, especially at night. I've never placed a foot inside her kitchen since the beginning. FML
Get out
Today, I found out that my mother changed all the locks of the house and threw away all of my girlfriend's stuff. I don't know what the fuck happened there. I actually bought the house two years ago because I had enought of her being nosey and controlling with both of us. FML

It's your grandmother. She should always be welcome.

Except when she's not. And considering she stole a key and broke into his place, I'd say she's definitely not welcome. Also, if he doesn't want his grandmother (or any other relative) in his place, that's his right.

She is always welcome as long as she give a heads up that she is coming. I would be pretty pissed if someone goes in my house with out knowing it

#1 I get what you're saying, my grandmother has been gone for 15 years so if I walked into my house and I saw her standing there, after I had the heart attack that this would definitely cause, I wouldn't mind how she got in and would spend the day answering whatever questions she wanted to ask. However, in normal everyday situations I would probably be pretty upset with any family member who 1, stole my emergency key from my mother for something that was not an emergency and 2, for not respecting me, my home, and my privacy enough to not call and make sure that this would be okay for them to do. To me it sounds like that's exactly what the problem is for OP, not the fact that the grandmother came to visit. OP, good luck with your grandmother and her boundary issues. Maybe you should also mention to your mother that she should find a more challenging hiding spot for your emergency key.

but wouldn't his mom have to get another key and if she does get another key his grandma can just steal that one.

Locks are not that cheap

that's just creepy. I love my grandmother and she's a sweetheart but if she did that to me I'd be weirded out!!

Today, I went to my grandson's home, using my daughter's emergency key, to wish my grandson a happy 22nd birthday. He wasn't pleased to see me and when I asked him where he has been all day he took it as an insult. FML

I missed the part where OP said it was his birthday... Trespassing is trespassing. Grandmother or not, she shouldn't have invited herself over, especially not without asking.

She asked you something. You better have been polite young man! She's your grandmother!

Just cause she is your grandmother doesn't give her the privilege to do what ever she wants. There is still this thing called privacy

^i think this was meant to be sarcastic, man
Hamden824 23
I'd like to ask how she got the emergency keys to break in.
SpyroMello 29
Literally says in the FML that she got it from the mother.
mrlawlor7777 26
I think they were asking what story / reason the grandma gave the mom to get the key.
Hamden824 23
I meant that as payback for what the grandma said to him.

She probably had an abundance of food waiting for you to make sure you didn't go hungry though...

Does she have dementia or early stages of Alzheimer's? This wouldn't be unusual behavior if she did.
saxaddict122 14
If she does, I'd be even more worried because she walked/drove herself to his house....

These are the first signs! Start labelling and claiming her valuable posessions!

Oh yeah, I forgot about those increasingly-popular first come first serve wills. Asshole...

That's how my dad's doing it. My brother and I agreed that I get the computer and he gets everything else

You want to inherit a computer? It'd lose value and functionality quicker than anything else. Pick something else to inherit.
