Today, I asked my dad to pick me up from school, he said he couldn't. Why? he was busy playing world of warcraft for the night. I got to walk the 3 hours home while my 49 year old dad played computer games. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my dad refused to pick me up because he didn't want to get off the couch, so I had to walk for an hour and a half to get home. When I finally got home, my dad had gone out to pick my sister up from her friend's house. Her friend lives a 3-minute walk away. FML
Today, I had to explain to my son that his dad was too busy in a raid on World of Warcraft to be at his award ceremony. FML
Today, my dad made me quit my online school classes and go back to public school, because apparently when I'm on the computer, it makes his video games lag. FML
Today, my boyfriend forgot to pick our son up from daycare. His excuse? Fighting in a battle in World of Warcraft was far more important and he had to stay absolutely focused. Our son had to wait for two hours. FML
Drunk level: 2000
Today, I had to pick up my dad because he was too drunk to drive home. Drive his wheelchair home, that is. FML
Helicopter parents
Today, instead of having my friends come pick me up, my dad drove me over to visit them. He insisted on walking me up to the door, hugging me goodbye, and making sure my friends were appropriate enough to hang out with. I'm in college. FML
Bully
Today, I told my dad that I was going to sleep over my friend's house this weekend with a few other guys to play Dungeons and Dragons. He responded with, "Oh, back in my day, me and my pals used to pick on the kids who played Dungeons and Dragons." FML
Unloved
Today, my dad lied and said he was busy working, all because he didn't want to see me. FML
Today, my dad called, saying he was in town and that he wanted to see me. I was excited, thinking he wanted to come see my new apartment. Turns out he just wanted to borrow my Xbox. FML
Gamers rise up
Today, despite the fact that I've lived alone for four years, and have a well-paid job, my father is still whining about, "Why am I still playing video games at age 32?" FML

YDI for living 3 hours away.

I still withhold that people would be less incensed if he said he was out fishing at a lake when she called. Imagine this. You've worked from 9 to 5, get home, start to unwind after a tiring day, and then your daughter thinks she can just call you and have you act as her personal driver. It's her choice to end up at school with no way of getting home. What would she have done if her dad had extra work? Then she would have had to walk anyway. It's just extremely bad foresight on her part.

For all of you saying that she might be in college because her dad is 49, my dad is 49 and I just started high school. :/ And for the taking a cab idea? Maybe she knew her family is in a bit of a financial problem (and her dad is still playing WoW u_u) and that long distance would cost a pretty penny, so she decided to walk. Also, for the ignorant persons who said YDI, maybe her dad often comes late to pick her up so that's why she decided to wait instead of catching a bus. It is his RESPONSIBILITY to look after his child, instead of playing video games. That's child neglect. FYL OP. Luckily, I live on a very small island so it shouldn't take less than 45 minutes to get home. Plus my dad always worries about me, especially since my brother has gone off to college.

Serves you right for giving him an ugly tie on Fathers' Day! Next Fathers' Day, get him a gift certificate for a massage, and make sure you pay enough for the Happy Ending. You do that and he'll carry you home from school. Oh, yeah, make sure your spring for a quote-unquote Massage Therapist that is FEMALE.

Haha, I wanted to get my dad a Geisha girl for Father's Day many years ago. I couldn't afford it, though. :(

He was doing "insert activity here" for the night. I don't know of any high schools that offer night classes. So there goes your HS theory...

Get a bike, ride it. Problem solved. 3 hours walking = 45 minutes on a bike and that's if you suck at it.
