Today, I went to my fiancé's mother's funeral. His step-sister proudly announced that she's pregnant with his baby and they are engaged. FML
Today, it was my wedding day. Three people showed up. My mom, my dad, and the priest. FML
Today, I met my mom's fiancé. He's a nice guy, he's also my wife's dad. I'll soon call my wife my sister. FML
Today, a guy who I have known for a long time confessed his love to me. It would have been sweet except that he will become my stepbrother in 3 days. FML
Today, my sister announced that she and her boyfriend are getting married. Her boyfriend is my husband. We're not even legally divorced yet. FML
Today, my dad married his fiancée, who insists I call her "Mom." I'm three years older than her, and went to the same high school. She's taking me shopping next week to buy me "something nice." FML
Today, my ex husband is marrying my sister. FML

I can understand the problem if you were young and boyfriend and girlfriend and were expected to act as a family unit living together when your parents got together. But you're all grown ups now, can't you just be happy for them instead of making it about yourself?

If they have kids, their kids would simultaneously be their children and their nieces/nephews because of the relation. That's one of the reasons why it's messed up and I don't blame OP for being angry about the situation.

No they're not. Not biologically and not legally. OP and her husband still have their own biological parents, regardless of the question whether they're alive or in contact. Future children will be related solely as siblings. I find it very hard to believe that, given the timeline of events, OP's father in law will actually regard OP as his step daughter. Marriage is a bond way less profound than being family. It's a legal transaction and pretext for a party. I'm surprised to see that its value is so highly regarded over actual bloodlines around here, creating a problem that imo honestly is a nice love story.
