Today, after realizing my flashcards had fallen out of my binder, I asked my teacher if I could quickly go to my locker to get them. She said no and told me to go sit down. As soon as class ended, I went to my locker and brought them to her. Her response? "Why didn't you ask me to get these during class?" FML

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, one of my classmates asked the teacher to postpone her presentation because she had to study and the teacher happily agreed. When I approached her, the teacher started yelling at me because postponing deadlines is irresponsible. I just wanted to make sure we didn't need to bring our book. FML
Today, a wheelchair-bound kid in my study hall dropped one of his textbooks on the ground and he couldn't reach it. When I noticed, I stopped what I was doing to go pick it up for him. The problem is, he sits right in front of the door, so I got yelled at for "trying to leave class without permission." FML
Today, in class, I reached into my bag to pull out a tampon, which I hid under my sleeve so I could make a quick escape to the restroom. My teacher yelled at me, because she thought I'd taken out my phone. I then had to prove myself by showing the tampon to the whole class. FML
Today, I got sent out of the class for "inappropriate" behaviour. The teacher later forgot about me and sent a notice home to my parents stating that I skipped class. FML
Today, I got detention from my teacher for not handing an assignment in. It would be understandable if I hadn't handed it in a week before it was due. She won't listen to reason. FML
Today, at my art school, during the class my teacher left the classroom. I stood up from my seat to ask my friend something. When I sat back down, one of my guy classmates was sitting there. I sat on his lap and right at that moment my teacher came back. FML
Today, my boss asked me to pick up some supplies for a presentation. I entered the store in the middle of an armed robbery, was knocked to the floor, and had my cash, phone and credit cards stolen. When I told my boss the story, she said, "So were you able to get the binder clips?" FML
Today, I finally got the guts to walk out of class 30 minutes early, only to find that the back door was locked. As I stood there like an idiot trying to get it open, all 200 people in my class turned to laugh. My professor stared at me. I then walked back to my seat, sat down, and unpacked. FML
Today, after class, my teacher pulled me aside and said "You know, I never received the e-mail regarding your disabilities that your parents mentioned. Could you have them resend it?" What disabilities? FML
Today, I was trying to finish an English assignment and I was not sure how to complete it, so I emailed my teacher to ask her for help. She told me to… flip over the assignment handout page for instructions. FML

It's amazing that flash cards is an ambiguous term now -- I immediately got confused upon reading this wondering if it was some kind of photoshop class... -- I know what flashcards are, but am still wondering why you'd have to give them to a teacher, aren't they a study aide? Anyway, it happens dude. I asked a teacher, multiple times in the last two weeks of the year if I still owed any detention, she told me "no" multiple times and eventually to stop bothering her about it (we couldn't get our report cards if we owed detention) -- I got a note mid summer that I owed detention for her class (for being tardy like 5 minutes here or there), so I had to come in to summer school and help move desks and crap for the school to make it up. It was totally bogus. If anything though, it makes you learn to appreciate people who have their shit together, and prepares you for being able to deal with it when they don't. :-)

I am a high school teacher, and I can tell you if it was at the start of the lesson, it was hectic and she probably couldn't hear you. There have been LOTS of times my students have caught me with stuff like this, and it's almost always because I couldn't hear them over all the noise of the hallway, the intercom, and the other students.
