Today, after months of constant encouragement from my friends, I went and entered a singing contest. I sang and was booed off stage. Later on I found out my friends lied to me about my ability to sing, just so I could give them a cheap laugh. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Got talent?
Today, I told my mom that I want to try out for a singing competition on TV, so I might be able to kick off my musical career. She convinced me to sing a song for her, so I did. Mid-way through, she lost it, burst into laughter, and told me to stay in school. FML
Get off!
Today, at a talent show, my band got booed before we even started playing. FML
I got heels, they’re made of plywood
Today, I was at a friend's birthday party in a packed karaoke bar/restaurant and I drunkenly agreed to sing. I picked a song I thought I knew by heart, only to realize halfway through that the lyrics on the screen were not at all what I thought they were. My brain went for a smoke break or something, and I turned into a rambling mess. The crowd actually booed. FML
Today, I worked up the courage to sing at an open mic night. I lost my cool halfway through because all I could hear was laughter. FML
Today, I went to a karaoke bar for the first time. I'd never sung in front of others, but I gave it a try. I was accused of being way too drunk and was asked to leave. I didn't get kicked out in the end, but I was told that my singing voice sounds like a dying goat. FML
I'm the main character!
Today, I found out why my friends don’t invite me to Karaoke Thursday Nights anymore. Apparently, I act like a “show off” and “presumptuous” and make the others feel bad. It’s not my fault I have a decent singing voice. I guess they don’t like that. FML
Pure entertainment
Today, I auditioned for a part in a play. I've been practicing for months, and was very excited. After I'd finished singing, the director whispered something to the other judges, and they all laughed. Hard. So much for the lead role. FML
Today, to help me get over my crippling social anxiety, my therapist encouraged me to sing in front of a crowd, since I actually have a fine singing voice. I ended up fainting onstage, mid-song. FML
And next on The Voice…
Today, I found out I have a bad singing voice. How? The choir judge decided to yell "STOP! Please just stop!" During my solo. In front of everyone. During the show. FML
He doesn't even go here!
Today, I had my high school piano recital. The entire time I was playing, one of my classmates sitting up front kept booing me and yelling "YOU SUCK" at the top of his lungs. He drowned out the entire song. FML

Do you not have your own personal working ears?

Your friends are awesome! They put up with your shitty singing for months, all while keeping a straight face, just to deliver the knockout blow at this contest. It was not a "cheap laugh," but one that required a lot of dedication and had a huge payoff! By the way, I love freaks like you. For me, the only part of American Idol that is worth a shit to me is the auditions . . . I love the "horribles!" I hope you haven't retired from singing.

Yes but it sounds different to you than it does to them, and even if it sounded awful to them a good amount of people would be too vain and biased to know otherwise.

right, but you could record yourself and listen to it, you could also get a vocal coach and they sure as hell will tell you how good you are, oooor you could ask for an unbiased opinion... and if you're still not sure if you're good or not... you're not

what great friends. I'd stab each and every one of them in the throat if I were you.

"I like girls" and a creepy pokemon pikachu pic with a comment that hints your at the least not the best person to be around, if you where the OP you'd be lucky to even have those friends. oh and that's before you stab their throats. xD

Aaaaand that's why American Idol auditions are so infamous, people who either troll (hur hur) the show or who are too dumb to record themselves singing so they can hear how they sound first.
