Today, after dropping my phone in the toilet, I left it dismantled outside in my backyard to dry hoping it could be saved. I forgot about the phone as well as the sprinklers that were scheduled to go off. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I lost my cell phone. But found it again! And then dropped it in the toilet. FML
RIP my best friend
Today, I put my phone in the dishwasher by accident. I'd left it on the kitchen counter with a bunch of dirty stuff and, distracted, loaded it in with the plates. I only realized it when the dishwasher started making weird noises. My phone was soaked and blinking with bubbles inside. It didn’t survive. FML
False advertising
Today, I woke up to find my cat had knocked my phone into the toilet. As I fished it out, soaking wet, I thought, "Well, at least it's water-resistant." Turns out, my phone wasn't. FML
Ironic
Today, I dropped my phone in the toilet. Now I know why they call it 'smart' phone; it's smarter than me. FML
Today, my fancy rubber phone case did its job and saved my phone from damage when I dropped it on the bathroom counter. Unfortunately, it was rather useless after the massive bounce it took before landing in the toilet. FML
Today, while pooping at work, I was scrolling through social media. I dropped my phone in the toilet and the automatic flusher engaged, flushing my phone halfway into the pipes, which then flooded the toilet. I had to call maintenance and explain what happened to retrieve phone. FML
Today, I was checking my phone while using the toilet. In a distressing moment of my brain mixing up the signals to my hands, I dropped my phone into the bowl and pressed my thumb into the shitty paper to turn it off. FML
Today, I accidentally dropped my phone in the toilet. I automatically dove my hand in and ran out of the stall with it. As I dried it, some girls were laughing. I assumed that they were laughing because my phone fell in the toilet. Then I noticed my pants were still down. FML
Today, I left my phone outside on the grass while I went inside to get a drink. I didn't expect my dad to run over it with the lawn mower. FML
So cute
Today, my youngest decided my phone needed a bath in the toilet. FML

I was gonna ask why you wouldn't expect rain or anything, but then I saw your location.

Rice my friend, rice. Sidenote: Wouldn't the sun possibly cause the phone to "steam" instead of drying it out?

I mean, the sprinklers would be ineffective if the phone was already ruined. Most phones need to be submerged to be heavily damaged. Only certain parts of phones are sensitive to water, which are generally internal, so assuming it worked after the water torture, it may be fine. P.S. Especially if you didn't throw your phone in the grass, like I assume you didn't.

Yeah, but they disassembled it before sprinkling it - so the sprinkler water definitely did get inside the phone.

Now, repairs are going to be very expensive. Expect to get ... soaked.

That wasn't even a pun?
RichardPencil 32
Yes it was. Soaked has two meanings in this case. It is indeed a pun.

I think some people use 'soak' to mean paying high taxes or imposing heavy charges. It's definitely not widely used enough to be a pun that many people would understand.

Use silica gel packets from shoe boxes and such to absorb the moisture from your phone. You don't have to take them out of the package.

Why the hell would you put it outside? Put it in a bowl of dessicant or something.
