Today, after 3 weeks of my new job, I'm already having work-related dreams. I'm having troubles differentiating between the 8 hour shifts in real life and the 8 hour shifts in my dream. I'm doubly exhausted. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I'm so sick, I'm even sick in my dreams. Orientation for my new job starts tomorrow. FML
Today, after a two week holiday, I'm returning to work exhausted. I had nightmares about work every single night. FML
Today, I started dreaming about being at work. I already work more hours a week than I requested, and I live right across from my work and can see it out my window. I can never leave. FML
I'm totally wired, can't you see?
Today, because of my new job, I'm so tired I can’t think straight anymore. Long hours to make a sterling first impression? Nope. I haven’t even started working yet, I’m just exhausted because it all stresses me to the point I can’t sleep at night. FML
Today, I had a dream about sleeping, which is a dream I have frequently. I’m exhausted even when I sleep. FML
Today, after working 12 shifts in the past 8 days at 2 jobs and thinking today was a day off, I got the call that I misread my schedule and I was in fact scheduled. Got off at 2:30 am, work again at 9 am with 9 shifts to go this week. FML
Leave me alone
Today, I was taking phone calls. In my dreams. That's just how horrible my job is. FML
Cheer up sleepy dreams
Today, it’s been 6 months at my job and I still can’t get used to the morning shift. Even with a changed diet, exercise, meditation, and no caffeine after noon, I'm averaging about 2 hours of sleep a night. My body will always choose sleep deprivation over falling asleep at a reasonable time. FML
PTSD FML
Today, I was working a phone call in a call center when I suddenly began to faint while at it. It turned out to be a bad dream I'd woken up from, because it's been three months since I've worked at that call center. FML
Today, after informing my boss that I needed stress leave from my 70-hour-a-week shifts, I got my new work assignment. Sixty hours a week, starting at 2 a.m. FML

Cross your fingers and hope you get it out of your system early, then the rest of your employment can be work dream-free! You're probably stressing subconsciously about learning the ropes, so I wouldn't worry too much. Good luck with the new job!

sounds like a 'dream job' sorry for you though, spend your evenings doing something you like, that would help.

Read a new book before bed, one chapter at a time. Better if it has cliff hangers to stop on. Get your mind on something else.

I had this for about a year, the only thing that stopped these boring and ridiculous dreams was seeing someone (I was single at the time) and they've stopped now I'm in a relationship, I had them because I had nothing else to dream about.

I work 16 hours on the weekends and then 3 other 8 hour shifts

agreed. I'd love to do five 8 hour shifts a week, instead of five 10-12 hour shifts, plus meetings. especially when my phone can never be off as well.

Try a salt lamp, I have one by my bed, couch and desk. Based on my sleep tracker I get a little more than an hour of deep sleep more than before... I don't worry as much either

A lot of people have dreams about their job after a shift of work. Sometimes I still hear call lights going off after my 12 hour shift at home. Hopefully it's only once in a while and not all the time.

Check with your gouvernment labour bouard -- in Canada, I think you get paid overtime for sleep-working.

That's actually really common, but of course that doesn't make it suck any less! Good luck op, they should fade once you get the hang of your job.

That is exactly what happened to me when I was working 10 hour shifts at Subway. I would fall asleep and wake up counting how many meats go on something like a BMT without even consciously thinking about it. lol
