Today, my fiancée broke up with me over text message while I was away for work. She later posted photos of her and her new boyfriend on Facebook, while still wearing my engagement ring. FML
Today, I got home and my girlfriend was wearing the ring I bought last week. Apparently she found it and thought to herself, "Fuck it, we’re engaged now so I’ll just start wearing it", completely bypassing the actual proposal part of getting engaged. I’m actually really mad at her right now. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I went shopping for an engagement ring. We ended up breaking up in the process. FML
Today, my fiancée handed me her engagement ring back and told me she felt like she's pressuring me into marriage, so to make me feel better about it we’re no longer engaged. On top of this, I found out she’s started talking to her ex again. FML
Today, I got home early from work at 2am to find my girlfriend of 5 years missing. Upon further inspection, I caught the "other man" dropping her off out front. So much for the engagement ring I bought for her. FML

Today, my girlfriend found the engagement ring I'd bought. She looked at it and said, "This is pathetic. You shouldn't even bother." FML

She is a bitch for not being upfront with you about how she sees your relationship but you are the same. You clearly had no conversation with her about marriage and you decided to propose without even considering her feelings and opinion on marriage? Marriage is not something you spring on people out of the blue. It is something you talk about with your partner. The proposal should not be a surprise, the time and place should be. If you don't talk about it don't whine when you don't get the answer you want (talking about your future possible proposals).

Proposals are "a thing". A thing you discuss with your partner before buying a ring. It's a decision you both make, not just one of the partners. Springing that on your partner without even mentioning marriage before in the entire relationship is inconsiderate and people like that deserve a "no".
