Today, a McDonald's employee had to correct my math after counting out $2.37 in change. I'm in AP Calculus and am currently learning how to find the derivative of an inverse of a logarithm. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was tending the cash register. I scanned a lady's items which totaled $89.68. She paid with a $100 bill. I gave her $11.32 change. She angrily gave back the extra dollar and complained about "schools nowadays". I'm an AP Calculus student. FML
Today, while working at McDonald's a car full of obnoxious teens came through. They had made a $30 order, and handed me a tin of small change, claiming that on a McDonald's ad they saw that we, employees, liked counting change. I had to count out $30 in spare change during a rush period at work. FML
Today, an old man, while I was working, asked me to spell average-length words. Confused, I refused. Turns out I was apparently taking too long counting the large amount of small change he'd given to me, and he assumed I couldn't count or spell. I study law, and I've learned basic calculus. Welcome to retail. FML
Maths is hard
Today, disappointed with my results on a mathematics test, I went over it and realized my teacher had added up the marks incorrectly, leaving me with 17% less than I earned. The person who's supposed to be teaching me math can't even perform basic arithmetic. FML
Brain freeze
Today, I was working my job as a waitress near my college. I handed a customer her check, and she noticed that I had added her bill wrong. I apologized, and she pointed to my "student" labeled nametag, asking what I was studying. I said English. I'm a math major. FML
Today, McDonalds charged me 21 cents for a honey mustard packet. The jerk manager made me break a $50 bill. So I grabbed all their napkins, carried them into the parking lot and tossed them all into the air in protest and drove off. Down the road, I realized I left my wallet at the counter. FML
I just work here
Today, while checking out a couple at work, I handed them their receipt and wished them a good day. The woman promptly pulled her husband to the side, and whispered to him about how much of a "fucking idiot" I was for making the prices so high. I work at McDonald's. FML
Gratitude
Today, I saw a man help an elderly lady with her tray at the local McDonald's. I wanted to do something nice for him, so I added a couple extra nuggets in his meal. He later came up to me and told me I was dumb and didn't know how to count, and that was why I was working at McDonald's. FML
Today, I have a final for my precalculus class. After hours of studying this week, I felt pretty optimistic. Until I got to class and realized that I'd forgotten my calculator. FML
Today, while working at a gas station, I accidentally changed the price of gas to 8.9 cents per litre. It took me fifteen minutes to figure out why everyone wanted only two or three dollars of gas. I fixed it, but now my managers are debating charging me for lost revenue. FML

No big deal. Simple mistake. I have a PhD in English and misstype/spell words weekly. That doesn't mean I'm any less intelligent.

Who the **** you think you are that someone from mcdonalds can't be smart? A lot of people work at chain restarunts to pay for school, medical bills, etc.

I would rather be bad at mental math (which i am) than be bad at calculus because accountants barely have to know simple math but engineers have to know higher math. I'll let you guess at who makes a shit load more

Umm... wow. I don't care about what happened at McDonalds, but you think what you're learning is hard? The inverse of ln(x) is e*x... and the derivative is x'e*x...

And in Calculus it's common to use a calculator to figure out basic math.

wth does that have to do with anything? Well guess what: I'm a medical student and imma say...ur an arrogant fucktard. Grow up, kid.

YDI for not being able to do simple math and implying that someone working in fast food is dumber than you are. Just because someone works at McDonald's doesn't mean they're retarded. I know a genetic pathologist and an entomologist that both worked at McDonald's while starting school, they're defiantly not stupid.

So? Everybody makes mistakes when counting money, it's not the same as math. Besides, is a derivative of a logaritm supposed to be difficult??? And just so you know : most Mc Donald's employees are students...

I'm in calc 3 learning how to use line integrals, and I can no longer do basic arithmetic. Deal with it.

haha don't worry, it was a simple mistake! but obviously no one else can get that, i sure think that would be embarrassing !

AP Calc isn't impressive at all...

Working at McDonald's is not equivalent to being stupid. It takes a lot of humility to work at a place where dilholes like the OP will walk in and assume he is better than the employee.
