Today, a friend posted a photo on Facebook of a meal with all of our other friends. The same meal they'd told me just yesterday had been cancelled. FML

Today, I was told Thanksgiving was cancelled after I'd already sent $100 to my sister-in-law to help with food costs. It turns out that it wasn't cancelled, I was just uninvited so her friends could go. I can't afford a meal for myself. I hope they all get food poisoning. FML
Today, I posted an event to have a get together with friends. Most of them put "not attending". I hadn't even set the date. FML
Today, a close friend told me she had no plans for her birthday. I found out she was lying when I had to serve her and nine other mutual friends dinner at the restaurant I work at. I don't know what's worse, the fact that I wasn't invited or that none of them even remembered that I worked there. FML
Today, I was invited to a birthday dinner at a restaurant. As I was leaving, I get a text from the birthday girl's boyfriend saying that it was cancelled. Hungry, I decided to go to that particular restaurant anyway. Turns out the party wasn't cancelled. Half the party just didn't want me there. FML
Today, after I invited my friend to a movie and she cancelled on me because she had to study, I obviously agreed and cancelled our tickets, I was scrolling through Instagram stories and came across hers, and saw she was with one of her friends in that same movie theater. FML
Today, I was at a goodbye dinner with friends before I move back to America. A friend called to cry over relationship problems she refuses to fix. While I was outside trying to politely get off the phone, my friends ate and drank everything I'd ordered and closed the bill. FML
Today, my mom slaved over a hot stove making a meal for 20 guests. They all cancelled at the last second. We now have leftovers for 20 people. FML
Today, all of my friends showed up an hour late for my 18th birthday party because they decided to go get dinner without me. FML
Today, a friend invited me over for dinner. She presented me with a "gourmet" homemade meal. As I started eating, I realized it tasted… off. She looked at me expectantly, so I politely ate it all. Afterwards, she told me it was a new recipe she was trying "tuna casserole" made with canned tuna… which we found out later expired in 2015. FML
Today, I was checking my friends' posts on Facebook and all of them were complaining what a boring night they had. They were all just at my house. FML

That's horrible. I've been the victim of this before now, and as I'm sure you're tired of hearing, those people are not friends. The best way to think of it, is that you would never treat another friend the way you have been treated, and soon you will find friends who deserve you!

</3 I'm sorry, OP. I've had this happen to me so many times, and Asperger's probably didn't help (not saying *you* have it at all btw, just an example). I've come to learn however, that it isn't me like I thought. There are just sooo many fakes out there, and it was too hard for me to read people to be aware of any subtle indication or red flags. What I've learned? Sometimes there *aren't* any. People are just shitty sometimes, and everyone else here is right - these are *not* your friends. I'm so sorry you had to find out like that, OP. I give you my condolences and wish you the best of luck with finding people who are just as loyal to you as you are to them.

That sucks butt majorly! I've had that, and similar done to me OP. IN MY OPINION - you need to talk to the organiser of said dinner and sort it out. Otherwise the feelings of left out will build and you'll explode!

Did all of them tell you it was cancelled or did one person tell you? If it's the first one, then maybe they brought it back on but forgot to tell you. If it's the second one, you should've checked with them to be sure. Still they're not very nice

Don't be afraid to make plans for a get together, that's how you find real friends. If they blow you off, just move on and eventually you will find a few real friends. You can't learn to swim if you don't get in the pool.
